Food of Remembrance

Post » Mon Dec 14, 2009 11:47 am

I have some "Stuff of Remembrance" for certain games but sadly, no food.

If there's going to be a Food of Remembrance for me for Skyrim, it's not going to be of my choosing, but simply what's available in the kitchen XD.

The smell of Pine Sol always reminds me of Baldur's Gate.

Taking a nice shower and sitting in front of the fan reminds me of EverQuest.

As for an Elder Scrolls game?

EverQuest and Morrowind are so married in my mind that one makes me think of the other; I remember playing EQ and listening to the music from Morrowind.

Concerning Skyrim, I intend to drink carbonated beverages and eat lots and lots of bacon.

I forgot to mention - the smell of stale air in my bedroom reminds me of Runescape.

I'm not even joking.

When I got Oblivion last year in winter, my current bedroom was still an uninsulated shed, so I guess I would have Frostbite of Remembrance. "This weather we're having reminds me of that naked hike I took through the Jeralls."

The day I installed Oblivion and fired it up for the first time I was scarfing a skooma burger and a scrib-soda.

Was it worth it?

I hate beer and I'm a vegetarian, but I might have to try some sort of a brew with Skyrim. Maybe I'd learn to like the stuff if I had a happy association like that.

Try a good mead with a little water in it, its a honey wine good ones have a musty sweet spicey type of feel, adding the water makes the less alcholic as well as a good thirst quencher well as for a meat sustitute your on your own there is NO substitute for venison or rabbit i feel bad for vegetarians your missing out

I usually play other games for maybe a couple weeks at most, so there is a particular edible item or drink that I can associate it with. For instance, I relate chai tea to Gears of War 3 and Tommy Hillfigar cologne to Diablo 2 Lord of destruction.

Oblivion took up so much of my time so its hard to narrow it down to something.

What's YOUR food/drink going to be? Mead?

Brownies. Special ones.

Every time I hear Sea Groove by Nickelback, I think of Oblivion. It's on my Oblivion playlist.

Can someone here recommend a good ale brewed in a Scandanavian country?

Well, seeing as I'll probably be sipping some fine Bourbon watching the opening scene, I'll say that.

There's only one "trigger" for me that I associate with a game though, and that's Bass fishing in a particular pond. To this day, whenever I fish there, I get the overwhelming urge to go home and play Baldur's Gate when I'm done. It comes from the fact that I was addicted to that game the first season I started fishing that particular pond. Weird, I know.

This is bizzare. I'd never considered that other people had food that reminded them of games.

I never had one for Oblivion, but canned Ravioli always made me think of Fallout.

It was summer '04, beautiful and sunny outside, and I was eating Taquitos while exploring TR's map 5 (the north-western chunk of mainland Morrowind). Everything came together to form one of those magical, perfect days. Ever since then I find myself craving Taquitos when exploring new areas in Morrowind, or wanting Morrowind when I'm eating Taquitos

Sadly I don't have this with Oblivion or Morrowind.
I do have other stories which I will tell for no reason.

I had a sore throat and drank a certain drink, ever since it always reminded me of the sore threat and never touched it again...
And I have a perfume which always reminds me of watching a certain anime.
