Fool proof ways to make money online

Post » Wed Jul 16, 2014 7:16 pm

Topic title is self-explanatory, but basically I'm in a financial quandary and I need some cash.

I'd really appreciate it if people would post ways of making money online that work and are practical and maybe even have some experience doing rather than just blurting out conjecture like "do some online surveys".

Surveys are fine but I'm never sent enough of them and the pay per survey is pretty poor.

Anyways thanks for the help in my financial plight... I should also add that I'm aware that I'm unlikely to get "rich" doing things of this nature online but really what I'm looking for is about a £100 a month to tide me over until college starts.

If you can get a decently popular website or YouTube channel you can use Google ads.

Why not just get a job in a fast food place or something?

Buy cheap stuff from Kijij and CraigsList... re-sell it for more money :P

Even if you somehow get a very popular channel, you still make a very small amount of money.

Most fast food places where I live are only looking to recruit at certain times and most importantly not now.

Also I have a youtube channel and google adsense but my videos are extremely niche and probably not that great so I've made next to nothing from it.

Thanks for the suggestions though folks.

Takes some hunting and driving around but buying things from garage sales and reselling them online made me some good money a little while back. I used to use EBay before they started charging people like crazy.

Go to garage sales, yard sales, estate sales, etc. Buy stuff super-cheap and then sell it on eBay. People pay outrageous amounts of money for junk on eBay.

Second this, even in charity shops there can be some good designer clothes that people have given and they can sell for quite a good price online.

Make an Ebay account and sell off your childhood  And no, I'm not joking. I've made several thousand dollars over the last few years selling off my old toys and stuff. Hell, sold my old He-Man collection for $400, and my Earthbound for the SNES for $450. Old mini-monster trucks for $10 a pop, old hot-wheels for $30 for 5. You'd be amazed at exactly how much some stuff is worth on Ebay ^^

You could try rummaging around for stuff to sell on ebay at garage sales, thrift shops and tips/dumps (some have 'stores' where they sell off stuff people just wanted to get rid of rather than throwing into landfill). However I don't think there are any 100% fool proof ways of making money on the internet.

Once found a set of old encyclopedias with only a few volumes missing at a garage sale for $20 and sold them on eBay for $450. You don't always find things like that but it's well worth it if you do.

I heard that there was some sort of Nigerian Prince who needed to unload millions of dollars into an offshore bank account and is willing to give a percentage to whoever can hold on to it for him temporarily. You should check it out.

Too late. He's already agreed to work with me, and it's ironclad.

Damn! I knew I should have jumped all over that when I first got wind of it. I shoulda figured that he would have tried at least one other random person via email other than me. I'll be kicking myself over that mistake for the rest of my life...

You'd be much better served getting a job by going around your town with a resume/CV (just a sheet with your test-results, extra-curricular activites and examples of you proving skills, for a to-be-student such as yourself). Getting bank-card details involved with websites which say they'll 'earn you quick-cash' is a direct-line to trouble'sville, in my view.

I found it very dificult to get a student job at first, but apply to as many as possible. You can usually use internet-sites to find vaccancies - I see you're British (well, Scottish, but I'm hoping you won't mind me calling you British) - ao try Indeed.com.

Not much online that a college kid can do besides ebay. You could try mowing lawns or something. Apply for all kinds of jobs, anywhere that's open that'll take someone without qualifications. Maybe put up some dogwalking fliers or babysitting. If its only 100 euro a month it shouldn't take much you just gotta find something steady. Maybe sell blood.

Yeah it's probably my best bet on such short notice and with hardly any money...and you can call me British until the 18th of September

Hahaha.

Actually I heard it's much harder job to get than one would think. You cant be a smoker, heavy drinker, have any health problems, etc. You gotta be a perfectly healthy person, yet also a deadbeat enough to do that for cash (but not be enough of a deadbeat to be a drinker/smoker, which is quite the fine line to walk on).

I actually considered being a dog walker but It would only be for a month or two until I went to college and I'd feel bad just abandoning dogs that won't get walked much because their owners are too busy or unable to.

I'll consider mowing lawns but I'm living in borderline poverty so getting money scraqed together to actually get resources to then make money with is tricky.

Amazon Turk is the simplest way to make money. Treating it like a full time job you can make $100 a week.

Beyond that there is selling stuff online.

And going further if you have some talent, then there is website building or prettifying.

That's really about all there is though for the low-barrier-to-entry stuff.

Is it better then for them to be walked not at all rather than at least getting a couple months in?

Yeah, I'm doing this and it's like £3 a month. Not very much

I've been doing this too, well, not childhood stuff but DVDs I don't really care for and so on. Been thinking about selling my Star Wars toys too although they aren't really in that good shape. Have some He-Man stuff too, maybe I should try to sell that too.

One third thing I've done once, I actually did thanks to this forum, sort of. An online friend from here asked me to do a translation for her friends business website and I did. The friend's friend paid me €30 for it IIRC.

You could try getting a job in retail. Clothing stores or electronic stores. Or maybe supermarkets?

You could also sell your blood if you're healthy enough.
