Im still amazed that football hasnt moved onto using a video ref. That yellow card that was awarded for the 'non' handball now means that he cant play the next match.....where is the sense in that? they should be able to change a match suspension afterward when looking at a video replay if it was wrongly awarded.

lol we're going to have to argue again. You don't need to have possession of the ball in order to get a red. If he tackled him from behind it would most certainly be a red card. In this case, I guess it wasn't a hard enough foul.

Well he didn't tackle him from behind, did he? I didn't say that you have to be in possession of the ball for the foul on you to be worth a red card (for instance an intentional fist punch in the face is insta-red card), but for this particular foul if the USA player had possession of the ball the Slovenian player would get a red card.

Two players running for the ball, one gets tripped up....neither actually are close to the ball and other defenders around....it would have been close to a Red, but i dont think its actually worth a red.
