Heskey couldn't score in a brothel...
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/worldcup2010/3020626/Madjid-Bougherra-flattered-with-Arsenal-link.html

That link as well, he played well last night against England but I haven't seen alot of him. Wouldn't say no to a squad player for £4 million though, can't be worse than Silvestre.

Whatcha think th3undon3on3?

http://www.totalbarca.com/2010/news/xavi-bougherra-has-a-style-guardiola-likes/ Hope to god Bougherra stays for another season though. With the money getting thrown around in England these days, £4m is an absolute steal. Double that would still be a bargain.

Heskey was MoM against USA in my opinion. He won everything that come up to him and played his role perfectly. He did miss a very good chance though.

Last night he wasn't as good but he was not to blame for everyone else being crap. The two worst players were Lampard and Rooney followed by Johnson and Barry imo.

How much did Johnson cost Liverpool? He looked so slow and hopeless yesterday, Ziani was running rings round him.

A mere £17million...

He's normally much better and deserves his place on his form in the last 2 years (although he's been injured recently).

Ha! You must be kidding!? That just makes £4m for Bougherra even more insulting.

My main reason for wanting Heskey out isn't because he's bad (Which he is), I just don't think it's working out playing with a target man. We'd play better with Gerrard just off Rooney and Joe Cole on the left, with Barry holding and Lampard making late forward runs. That's my opinion anyway  Heskey in that role just isn't adding enough, winning a few knockdowns isn't really reason enough to put him in the team. That [censored] Rooney could play further up as well then, where he's been a goal machine for Utd this season.

Added to that our players can't pass more than 2-3 times consecutively and the fact they're clearly very nervous and lacking confidence and we've got a disaster. We don't really have anyone who can pull the strings either, Gerrard and Lampard are great players but not suited to the role of "playmaker". I think Joe Cole could help add a bit of guile and he'd be better than Gerrard on the left. After watching SWP and Lennon, I'm wishing Capello had taken Walcott, he can't have done any worse than those 2 have so far.

The Cameroon vs Denmark game has just exploded, very exciting right now.

Song just blocked a certain goal and Eto'o hit the post. Plus. Bendy got a goal.

England. What are you playing at.

I watched the first 30 minutes then turned it off -- I'd rather see Fabio replace the A team with the B team, or a bucnh of patriotic punters from the stands. At least they would play like a team.

It's looking more and more likely that England will be going out, I at least want them to go out in a blaze of glory and not another bloody draw. Denmark Vs Cameroon was amazingly entertaining, best game i've seen so far.

1-0 for Paraguay! They should be able to pop in a few more.

Cos he smacked Chiellini in the face and he's been warned 3 times by the ref already. And the NZ foul in the box and the penalty is given. 1-1 and it should be.

Soft penalty. De Rossi went down like he'd been shot and was never getting to the ball anyway. If penalties were given every time someone grabbed another player's shirt all the games would be ending 10 - 10. And Fallon hasn't once actually swung an elbow - every player uses their elbows as leverage when they jump but the Italians are going down like he's been swinging sledgehammers at them.

This is the one thing I hate about the World Cup - it has Italy in it.

New Zealand are naive and fouling blatantly. If Italy win the decision blatantly they aren't to blame. That's the difference in attitude between North and South Europe. We can add all the British colonies into that too. And they all blame it on a Guatemalan referee as if South America doesn't play like Italy.

Yup, here we like to see players do a little something we call "man the [censored] up".

BBC Radio 5 live's Robbie Savage:
"That's shocking. That's not a penalty, he's hardly touched him. That's a disgrace, it's embarrassing really. There's slight contact and De Rossi, being a professional, has gone down and made a meal of it. New Zealand shouldn't get too disheartened."

39 mins
The Italians are making a meal of every time they are fouled, which is disappointing. The really don't need to resort to those tactics, they are totally in the ascendancy in this one.

Ad infinitum, as they would say.

You prove my point there.

France are now refusing to train and the Director of Footie has gone home. What are the odds France refuse to play in the last game?

I just feel every time the player attempts to make a meal of a foul or otherwise con the referee then the decision should automatically go against them, whether it's a genuine foul or not. There should be no tolerance of cheating, and Italy cheat blatantly and shamelessly in every game of every tournament they play. I just wish there were more players like Zidane willing to stick the nut on them.

France will play. They still have something to play for.
