Sad to see Japan go. Not that it matters since Paraguay has to go up against either Spain or Portugal. :P

Yup, Spain is going to be slaughtered diving wise and CRonaldo is without a doubt a worthy successor for our all time great, Jo?o Vieira Pinto.

On a more serious note, I don't really know what to expect of this game. However if Queiroz keeps insisting on absolutely useless players like Pepe, Danny and Ricardo Costa(only near-useless for these two) Spain is going to steamroll Portugal.

I always have some mixed feelings at the start of a penaly shoot-out. Yes, it's absolutely riveting, but you know before they have even touched the ball, that one of those players is going to be screwed.

I don't like watching someone break down and cry when he feels he's just let millions of people down. It gets to me.

EDIT: Atleast this is more entertaining than that previous atrocity people dare call a match Portugal starred.

Pathetic, Ronaldo. Spitting at the camera, what a sad little guy.

Deserved win from Spain!

Portugal only has itself to blame, really.

Well, back to the usual politic scandals here I guess. About time, too. :P

I hate seeing players cry :| That Portuguese keeper was inconsolable. Portugal never deserved to go through, but bringing that whole human factor into it and seeing just how gutted Eduardo was almost makes me wish they'd won instead. Of course, then I'd have been looking at a Spanish player in tears and thinking the exact opposite.

In other news, how good is Villa? Spain should start with him and Llorente up front next game. Torres has been a waste of air.

Same here. That Kamono, or whatever that guys name is from Japan, who missed the penaly was just too horrible to watch.

That North Korean striker that was crying before the Brazil game too. I wanted him to go all the way. I wish I could make a team of all the players I just really want to do well. I'd have Marek Hamsik as the captain, because he's just badass.

The Japanese players were indeed horrible to watch after the game. :(

Football today wasn't all too exciting. Sad to see Japan go. Especially the way did, but the penalty shots were great. Well, with one exception.

And Spain still doesn't play as Spain. I've never seen Iniesta this bad. It was terrible to see. And Torres seems to have lost all of his confidence during his injuries, he has been surprisingly bad. I think Llorente did a good job, coming in. And Villa played well, but I don't understand his position. He played more like an offensive left back today.

Might've been offside on the goal, I dunno. And I don't care much either. I only like Fabio Coentr?o in Portugal and Spain was better today as well.

No plan B from Portugal. They defend extremely well but are pretty hopeless when they go forward. They have Cristiano Ronaldo who is without question one of the best players in the world, and they don't get the best out of him at all because he is always isolated at the other end of the pitch with no-one trying to help him out. I'm glad Spain won, because they are a much better team to watch, but they have not been at their best so far either this competition.

Well, I was sad to see Japan go, but Portugal not so much.

Anyone else think the guy who elbowed Endo in the ear (think it was Silva) was lucky to get away without a red card?

Also, it looks like FIFA has finally brought all the good refs out of the closet they've been keeping them in. Much higher quality the last two days. Maybe they've been resting them so they won't be tired out by the finals?

I just saw that EA had a download offer for FIFA 10, so I decided to splash out the £15 and buy it. Holy crapicola is the EA download manager [censored]. Barely pushing 40kB/s, with a little under 48 hours of downloading to go :|

The refereeing has been a mixed bag so far. Some have been excellent, and some have been just downright useless (England-Germany match, Argentina-Mexico match). Today and yesterday were good days for referees though.
