Excuse me, but the difference between the incident you're talking about and the incident that Melvar was talking about is obviously that Irish were seriously damaged by that incident in that they didn't even qualify for the World Cup because of it, while the incident on the USA-Slovenia match had absolutely no effect. Not only did it not change whether the USA qualified from the group stage but it didn't even change their rank in the group - they ended up first. I think it's obvious why it's understandable that the Irish are/were as displeased about that handball as they are/were, while Americans' constant bickering and moaning over that single meaningless mistake that didn't even have a consequence isn't.
To be honest the only reason it didn't effect the outcome is because they eventually managed to beat Algeria. If they hadn't the referee's mistake would have acctually prevented them from qualifing from the group stage. So their complaints acctually are valid, but they are also futile.
I think that's the difference between the Americans and the rest of us. We've grown to accept that in football referees make mistakes and that we can't do anything about it so if something happens we might [censored] about it a little, but then we calm down about it pretty fast. Americans apparently don't.
On an unrelated note, I like your new avatar much better than the old one. :hubbahubba:
