Why wasn't he in goal for England in the first game?

Yeah, he could have lined up for England, after all:
Paul could be considered a traitor -- he was born in England before moving to the German aquarium.

Well, Argentina x Mexico coming up in a couple of hours. Hope it's a good one.

I totally called 4-1. Won a bottle of champagne. :D

And damn, England was just awful. Embarrassing because the bar I ended up in was mostly Germans.

Germany trash England like I predicted. Waiting for tonight's match, Argentina show us how it's done!

Meh, had some time to think about the result now (Formulate excuses :hubbahubba:) and if you look back you can see the critical moments that cost us. The fact that Ferdinand got injured and his replacement King got injured contributed badly to our crappy defence. JT had to play with a different partner every game and he hasn't looked the same since the Bridge-gate scandal anyway. Rooney's form destroying injury at the end of last season was pretty unlucky as well, could have done with him firing on all cylinders.

The fact Heskey exists also pretty soundly mucked up our chances. I mean, it's just not enough to be as terrible player, he felt the need to break Ferdinand's knee with his fat [censored]. Heskey doesn't do calamity by halves. Sure, it wasn't his fault that our malfunctioning 4-4-2 system was basically designed around him but that didn't make it any prettier to watch.

I am sort of looking forward to getting some fresh meat into the squad though over the coming years, the likes of Hart, Walcott, A.Johnson, Wilshere, Gibbs, Rodwell etc. Will be nice to mix them with the "Golden Generation". I think in time Milner will make a mean CM, he sort of reminds me of Schweinsteiger in a weird sort of way.

Now to drink heavily :foodndrink: To heavy and perhaps slightly harsh defeat!

Congrats to Germany. I can't back them to lose no matter how hard I try when I watch them play - against any team but England. Now that England are out, I hope Germany go all the way. :)

That was almost as bad a mistake as Lampard's 'goal' earlier.

Abysmal :shakehead:

This really can't go on any longer. Although this one was so obvious, camera replay shouldn't have even been necesarry.

Blatter will go down for this, two times on one day is too much.

Worse. Far worse. There can't even be any excuses about the linesman not being in position to see it. And then the farce of them seeing the replay and not being able to change the decision, despite the fact that play hadn't even resumed. Mexico needed the breaks to have a chance of winning this, and that was a major kick in the teeth for them. On the other hand, two high-profile mistakes in one day in the last 16 of the biggest football tournament in the world may start to put some pressure on FIFA. As I said to my dad, if I was the Mexico players I'd have sat down on the pitch and refused to play on after that decision,

FIFA have got to be the worst sport committee ever. They NEVER EVER make use of current technology. And has a ref EVER changed his decision? I've NEVER seen it happen. Idiots.

Yeah, you'd think they'd use the video replays, I see no reason not too.

That said, even if England second goal had been counted they would have still been destroyed. We just outmatched them in every way.
