No footstep sounds when walking on crippled limb?

Post » Thu Sep 23, 2010 12:09 am

Ok, has anyone else experienced this little annonyance? After getting a leg crippled by stepping on a landmine or
some other hazard the footstep sound I normally hear when walking disappears. If I straff to the left or right I get
the sound but walking forward theirs nothing.

I think it's more realistic. You shouldn't be walking on your bum leg anyway.

In addition, it only happens in 3rd person. Switch to first person you can hear your footsteps. Switch back to 3rd and it goes silent.
Did it 2 or 3 times just to be sure. God this is SOOOOO stupid! This game has some of the silliest bugs.

They have 2 sets of sounds:
- For movement in 1st person.
- For movement in 3rd person.

Obviously they haven't put in a 3rd person crippled movement sound set, or they forgot to put in the trigger.

This should get fixed with a patch, but with the way things are going, I doubt it will be.
If you really want Bethesda to improve this shoddy performance, then spread the word that New Vegas is a buggy mess of a game, and advise people to not buy it.
It's the only way to get their attention.
