For any fans of the Enclave (Fallout New Vegas

If you have got the ED-E eyebot in Fallout: NV you can start a quest and he will start a recording that says that the enclave has a presence in Chicago. This is good news that may mean a lot to what may happen in the future for the fallout series.

Actually, this proves there WAS a presence, we have no idea what, if any, existence they have left. After having their clocks cleaned in both California and D.C., I'm sure there isn't much left of them to be a presence. To assume otherwise is just rabid fan boy wishing. Plus, ED-E never says he found them in Chicago, for all we know, the Mid-Western BoS crushed them in Chicago and ED-E never found them.

Let's leave the beaten horse corpses to rest please, no need to bring out the beating sticks any more.

He's got a Chicago license plate strapped to him, so someone found him in Chicago at least.

It could be the dad and son we hear who put it on him to 'repair' him.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Enclave in Chicago, but please, this should definitely be an Enclave that is well-aware of what happened to Navarro and D.C., and after 200 years of watching the post-apocalypse, can figure out "hey these 'muties' aren't so bad, can develop a community and function exactly as pure strain humans, and we're totally screwed if we try to take over the world."

AKA, they should be just another faction with their personal best interests at heart, but limited interest in expansion.

Well technically we don't know the canon ending of FO3, so you can't really say they got their clocks cleaned in DC.

Who knows, maybe canon ending is Autumn tortures the code out of the LW, who then dies in a RR holding cell.

Given the game autoreloads afterwards, no, it's not.

@Longknife- I'd like to see the Enclave become a down and out collective of survivors simply trying to assimilate to Wasteland life to show not everyone in the Enclave was a mindless drone as F3 horribly made it seem.

well they were mostly mindless drones in fallout and fallout 2 too

In new vegas you at least see them integrating somewhat because they have to. I can see some of the lost/remnants doing the same elsewhere

So what, the game over at that point. It just a fact, we do not know canon ending. Would it be as extreme as taking a bullet from Autumn? Prolly not, lol.

But could have been a pawn for Eden. Could have talked Autumn down at the purifier. Could have nuked the citadel. Who knows.

I'm going to regret this.

Being shot by Autumn - game reloads.

Pawn for Eden - you, the BoS, and Liberty Prime still wipe out Raven Rock, the Enclave soldiers and Adams Air Force Base.

Talk Autumn down at the purifer - you, the BoS, and Liberty Prime still wipe out Raven Rock, the Enclave soldiers and Adams Air Force Base.

Nuke the citadel - you, the BoS, and Liberty Prime have still wiped out Raven Rock, the Enclave soldiers and Adams Air Force Base.

Only arguable dispute over canon is whether you put the virus in or not, but the Enclave soldiers, bases etc get wiped out either way. And even if you put the virus in, Broken Steel goes back on the results, turning the capital wasteland into a graveyard becomes a few wastelanders coughing, thus making it pretty well certain putting the virus in isn't canon.

May be a few stragglers, people hiding out somewhere but still. New Vegas called them the Remnants for a reason.

Yes and Whitley also thought Navarro was still functioning. Safe to say he is not the most up to date on the current state of the Enclave.

So yes the recordings were probably made a while back. Whitley states that all work has been converted to hellfire armor. He says he wants to get the eyebot safely to Navarro. He also said if your listening to this at one of our outposts in Chicago give it any repairs it needs. So he's stating that there is an Enclave outpost in Chicago.

Right, of course this has nothing to do with poor writing on Beths part by allowing you to assist a factions goal by also killing them. All logic. That is generally the logical part of helping someone, agree to help, then shoot in face.

That's a whole seperate issue........ Regardless of Bethesda's writing skills we have to work with the games as they are, for better or worse! :D

As people pointed out there is a chance the outposts were destroyed, it's also possible they were recalled to the C.W. when the Lone Wanderer began to go genocidal on the enclave, even the fact they are labeled outposts instead of bases doesn't help.
