For Auld Lang Syne Quest Glich

Post » Thu Oct 21, 2010 10:48 am

Not Quite sure what to do now. Ive looked this up on multiple sites and youtube vids but cant seem to find anyone whos encounterd this same problem.

As soon as i got Arcade Gannon as a follower, he emmidietly tells me about the enclave and all that good stuff. ( ive already completed the nessesary things before i found him ) But the quest "For Auld Lang Syne" dosn't start. I even gone around to the people im sapose to meet but none of them have an optian to talk about it.

So from what im understanding, its broken. Is there a way to manully activate the quest? Ive checked out console commands but im pretty sure there isnt anything to activate a quest. You can restart and finish a quest, but cant start a quest through commands.

Help?

Go do some more stuff that will get him to talk to you.. speak with Hildern at Camp Mccarran, visit the crashed vertibird, etc..

I'm not sure if you referenced the Vault Wiki: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/For_Auld_Lang_Syne but if you have done everything outlined there, you're probably hosed.

One thing to remember is that Companion Quests are extremely complicated. They involve multiple triggers and dependencies as well as keeping a running tally of 'affinity' points.

It is likely that you missed a step. If not, you may have to go back to a much earlier saved game to salvage this.

also, as a reminder, this is the General Discussion forum. I'm going to ask to have this moves before it gets too far into forbidden territory.

You could try to reset the quest to the beginning stage. Make a hard save and then try the following in the console:

resetquest 00157e60

If that doesn't work, try this:

getstage 00157e60

That will return a number telling you what stage the quest is currently at, assuming it is anything but 10 then do this to try to reset it to the beginning stage:

setstage 00157e60 10

Btw this is still in the wrong forum, this has nothing to do with DLC issues as this quest is in the base game.

The quest won't trigger unless you are far along with the Main Quest. How far a long I don't remember ... I think at stage three or four of the End Game quests. So that's almost the end of the game.

This is difficult to understand. Arcade does not tell you about the Enclave, as a matter of fact, he hides it from you until you've done certain things to gain his trust. I'm not sure what happened with your game, can you tell us what the "necessary" things were you did?
