If people want to not play on hardcoe for thier first playthrough, it is understandable.

It's going to be a challenge and maybe they dont want to play the game being frustrated.

I will be playing on hardcoe Every playthrough.

Fallout is a game ment to be played the way you want to, isn't it?

If people dont want to play on hardcoe, it is thier choice.

I want to know what the point of being able to play on very easy hardcoe mode is. Or does HC mode shut off the easier difficulties.

Not cheating, but definitely easier, once you know where you can pick up food, water and where the free bedrolls are. Will be doing HC first time, as it will lose some of the immersion if I already know where everything is. Kinda takes some of the experience out of being a wasteland explorer, of the classic Fallout style.

Difficulty affects how strong or smart the enemies are. hardcoe adds survival aspects to it. So, if you find the amount of damage enemies take to be good at Easy difficulty, but think it's ridiculous to carry around a whole armoury in Casual (or find that you can survive all encounter by hotkeyed stims, or whaever), you can play Easy hardcoe.

I believe hardcoe mode is not a difficulty. it just adds the realism effects.

When you leave the doctors place it will ask if you would like to play on hardcoe mode or not.

It's not cheating, it does not give them an unfair advantage and it does not hurt others simply because it does not affect them.

I wouldn't call it cheating at all. Alot of people including have realized that although FONV uses the same game engine as FO3, alot of game machinics have changed. Exp. the follower system, I'd like to practice with that for a few hours until i'm comfortable with it. Odds are pretty I won't finish my first non-hardcoe game, instead I'll get to a point, stop that game and start a new one in hardcoe mode. Also their is a big difference between hardcoe and non-hardcoe styles. So its like getting two games of the same type in one.

I do not think I can play the game on the highest difficulty though, since I svck at the games big time, and die quite often so normal is good enough for me. One thing from playing Point Lookout is I hate bullet sponges. I am afraid if I increase the difficulty level the enemies will be bullet sponges which for me, take out the fun.

Also her you can play hard core mode on the easiest setting if you like as well. Good to know you can increase or decreas the difficulty level even in hardcoe mode.

No. The difficulties that come with hardcoe mode are still always present. No matter how much you know about where things are, you're still going to have to deal with the added weight, dehydration/sleep deprivation/hunger, more difficult healing process, and better enemies. Then again...Damn you OP!!! Raising philosophical dilemnas!

Cheating in Bethesda games is very blatant.

Multiple play throughs is just that. I don't plan to play hardcoe mode until I have beaten it a few time and am looking for more of a challenge than x faction on top / y karma influence. Does that make me less hardcoe? Probably......but I'll still be putting a frag grenade in your pocket after I pickpocket you keys. Then I am going to your house and looting your junk.......why is there a Naughty Nightwear in your safe Lugnut?

No, not at all. I will be playing the game in normal mode fist because I want to enjoy the story and have fun. I will use hardcoe later to enjoy the full gameplay.

And if we use your logic, won't playing the game a second time or even saving and loading it be consider 'cheating'?

i dont care about hardcoe mode, my first, two playthroughs will be normel than i will check out hardcoe, the reason for this is, i want my first playthough to be fun and relaxing, i dont want to be always looking for water and food, and i want to carry thousands of rounds of ammo
