Only reason I think this might be relevant is maybe Nvidia got hold of a 6990 benched it and weren't satisfied so they tried to tweak afew things around to get a better benchmark. They might want to hold back the DX11 so AMD can't make tweaks of their own meantime.

You have to wonder though what is more fanciful. Crytek trying to trick people into buying a game knowing that long term it will come back to bite them in the arse. Or delaying DX11 for some other reason.

Both things seem unlikely.

Most likely it is just not ready.

I have 2 5870s so I can have dx11 but I really don't give much of a **** if I have to wait or if it never even comes out. I'm the kinda guy who actually does just play games for fun instead of graphics (although it is fun to benchmark specially since I'm a tech geek and computers even inspired me to get a degree in EE). Almost all of the games I play usually have very sub-par graphics. I honestly don't care though cus I have tons of fun playin them.

I'm wondering if Crytek and Nvidia are secretly preparing to release a Super DX11 or DX12 Patch for Crysis 2, and they can't talk about it.

Well we pretty much know that games are soon to be in development for new consoles if they aren't already so everybody better bring their A-Game to PC in the meantime if they want to get a bigger slice of that pie.

Hence BF3 and surely more to follow.

Honestly, I've had it with Crytek and their recent schemes. I'm glad the leaked happened because they are now showing their true colours. Being a Treyarch/Infinityward wanna-be.

DirectX is developed by Microsoft. Crytek and Nvidia have no play in DX11/12 development.

Well nvidia did put 2 million dollars into the development of crysis 2 so that they could show off their new gtx 580/590 so i would say that delaying dx11 patch till the gtx 590 comes out is not outside the realm of possibility.

not to mention they most likely are making crysis 2 optimized dx11 drivers otherwise why would they bother sinking 2 mil into the development of it.

Who said that. Some internet blogger said it was for 580 but all he knew was Nvidia gave Crytek 2 mil. The rest was speculation.

I think the Dx11, I have the 3dvision glasses, and they worked perfectly with the demo, only 1fps drops using 3d, and it looked just awsome!
