For RP purposes, I need safe storage NOT in a town or city.

Especially not in a city or in a house I own. Does anyone know of any?

in a dragon?

I've heard that this works. Just be careful of rivers washing the corpse away.

Or pick a cleared out dungeon to store your stuff in. No one goes into those.

Huh...that may actually be brilliant. Do dragons ever rot?

Of course, there is always the chance that your dragon stash will glitch and fall through the earth, or go flying through the air and end up Talos knows where.

I believe there is only one place that would be requiring you to join the dark brotherhood
Spoiler
Dawnstar sanctuary, the very end of dbhood quest line. you get quarters there but the other dbhood members live their too. it's basically just outside dawnstar but not in the town

just find a dragon, near a dragon wall (where you learn shouts) as there normally on top of mountains. Kill it, and place stuff in it then.

What about the chest near Krosis? That probably doesn't reset.

You're wrong.

The treasure chests you find by following Treasure Maps don't respawn. You can use those quite happily. There's one just across the river from Riverwood, in a fallen tree trunk.

There's an Alchemist's Shack and a witch's shack and stuff, and they look great. Don't know if they reset, though.

Spoiler
Go to Labyrinthian and find the wooden mask. You have to keep coming back, but it teleports you to a safe haven where you can store your dragon priest masks/stuff (it's got like 6 chests)

^I know one.

You'll probably have to resort to a camp mod, or perhaps manually set containers to not respawn their items.

My character is currently using Broken Oar Grotto as a home. I'm pretty confident that two of the chests there (quest related and semi-quest related) are safe. The dungeon hasn't respawned yet though, so I don't know for sure

Can someone please tell me why he wouldn't just store his stuff in a house he bought in a city?

Is there something I'm missing?

Can we get robbed in the game? Will NPC's steal what we put in our chests in our houses??????????????????????

Really?

hide it behind a brush along a road away from any meddling guard patrols. if you are storing what your name suggests you are storing.

Roleplay purposes, meaning his character may not simply want to own a house and so hence why he needs another means of storage.

Become part of the DB, I haven't tested it but I use to use the old ruins across from the sewer entrance in Oblivion if you put items on the ground they will stay there chests/mobs get reset again I haven't tested such in Skyrim.
