Q for stealth players

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:59 pm

Playing a lvl 7 Khajiit assassin using daggers as primary and a bow as secondary. I have built stealth up to 49 and 1h up to 26 and so far this is where all my perks have gone. 4:2 stamina:health ratio as well. In a closed space I'm killer. But how the heck do people travel from point A to point B!? I dont fast travel so I need some tips for long journeys and exploring. Thanks!

Put lots of points into stamina, so you can sprint longer or become a werewolf, they're faster than horses.

....the actual question you asked doesn't really have anything to do with your topic title you know?

As for the answer: Run, duh! Or use the carriages. They're pretty cheap.

I just run from point A to point B. Or I'll steal a horse, but it usually ends up dead shortly thereafter anyway.

You're not sneaking everywhere out in the open world, are you? I couldn't imagine traveling at that pace. I'll just run/sprint, and only crouch down if I see an enemy up ahead, or if I'm coming up on a fort or camp where I suspect enemies will be. If I do get caught out in the open, it's normally no more than a bear, or a couple wolves, and I can handle those fights without the element of surprise.

I'm not sure I understand your question entirely. Are you worried about surviving between point A to B, or are you asking about traveling quickly

between said points?

Unless the location is on the other side of the map, i use a horse, run myself or carrage service. As the distance on map can be a little misleading sometimes, and not as far as you think.

-Use the carrage service if the location is closer to a paticular major town.
-Walk/Run.
-Buy a horse.

Surviving, I felt like I was a Sally for just running as fast as I could and trying to avoid as much as I can.

I too play as a stealth-fighter type with a 1:1 Health/Stamina ratio (level 22). So you might want to "beef" up the health a little.

There are some fairly good health (fortify health ring) and light armor enchanted items (ring of the squire/studded leather armor of the squire) that can be purchased from vendors or found in caves that are quite effective.

Other than that, LOTS of restore health and stamina potions.

Good luck. :foodndrink:

Take a follower with you. When you get to your destination, tell them to stay.

For longer trips, fast travel or use the horse & cart.

I also have a stealth thief/assassin and, even at lv 28, fighting something hand-to-hand is tough and usually ends with me face down the snow.

As others have said, keep health and stamina on a 1:1 ratio, carry health pots and use poisons. Lingering health damage and paralysis are godly for giving you an edge in a fight. Also remember you are made of paper and sometimes running away to hide and then striking again when you're ready can be the solution. I had a 20 min duel with a sabrecat this way and eventually killed it. Was fun to sprint away, hide behind rocks, heal up health and stamina, re-apply poison and then spring out again
