For the builders

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Opening---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Undoubtedly, many of already thought on this for one reason or another; but for those of us that spend as much time exploring as we do building; there are a few quality of life improvements that I would love to see. These suggestions are being offered for the intent of console as well as PC. As a PS4 player, mods are not an option at this time, please keep that in mind when offering helpful feedback.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Improvements----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I. An option to increase the build cap and potential settlement area via perks or expansion purchases from a vendor. The option to increase the area, and the amount of objects in an area would be grand. In a future DLC, an increase in the number of perk levels could exist, and were that to happen, I would love to have some settlement based perks to come into existence.

II. Following the previous line of thought; an increase in perks related to settlements would be an excellent addition. Following that, the option to unlock build options through perk levels would be a helpful side path to obtaining additional build options aside from hunting magazines. Though the hunting magazines side activity is great for us explorers, additional build options via leveling could be fun too.

III. Material shipments in more abundance. I read a tip early on that forewarned me that I should seek to use wood buildings as much as possible verses steel because wood was more readily available..... boy was that off. As a frequent builder, I find the grind for necessary materials (the basics folks) an annoying and often enough, frustrating grind when I want to build big and loud and yet cannot when I have the desire to do so. A few more vendors selling more of the basics (wood and steel mostly) to ease the burden would be nice.

Thank you for reading! Any additions or thoughts are appreciated in the spirit of adding quality of life to the builders among us. =)

DLC has a lot of potential to bring a lot more things to settlement building.

They could release a Heathfire style outright expansion that focuses just on Settlement creation and I would be all over that. I got a lot of ideas that the current settup just doesn't let flourish.

For instance, I started plans to build a Copacabana style night club. Because what does a hero do eventually? Open a night club. Worked for T.R.E.X. (google it, you whippernsappers), Mickey Mouse, and that dog from Food Fight (An unappreciated classic on par with Citizen Kane)

I would love to see a 90 degree snap feature implemented for walls, especially for interior building purposes. I think having shipments available in more abundance would be great, however, i think that Beth only made certain shipments available from certain NPC's so that we would still have to go out and explore like the game intended. Also, aside from crafting, i think that having a Settler Management Menu would also make the system that much more finished and make me not want to :brokencomputer: . I am no game designer/programmer/writer so i have no clue how difficult any thing like this would be to undertake.

Wouldn't mind settlement expansions for settlements super close to each other. I always imagine that if we are based at Sanctuary one would think to make the defense perimeter along the river bank on both sides and even a defense at Red Rocket as to use Sanctuary right behind it mainly for resources. Would like Red Rocket and Sanctuary to be connected lol.

They could put more levels on Local Leader for settlement enchancements like the ones we desire in this thread.

The one big one for me is better settler AI.

But apart from that it would be random settler names. Newer looking buildings , far better quests to open up settlements. And a main campaign like help build the new commonwealth . Being part of the creation of a new fallout faction would be awesome. Blue the builder.

Or if you could just completely scrap an area and start fresh... That would be fantastic. Get rid of shrubs/bushes/random piles of garbage. I agree^^^^ Settler AI needs vastly improved. And just give them random names like we had in FO Shelter...

If I could only ask for one single addition to the settlement tools, I'd ask for vertical rotation.

I'm all for Fallout:Hearthfire. I'd really like to see the "defend settlement X" events turned into a fully developed tower defense style meta-game. There's a lot that would have to be done to lead up to that, because the settler and enemy AI is nowhere near ready for anything other than very rudimentary attack and defend tactics. A level appropriate multi-wave assault by lead by a legendary enemy general? Yes please.

We're already building well beyond the simplistic requirements of maintaining a few bots who can't path themselves down off a roof, just to build for fun. Give us a *reason* to build defensible settlements, and spruce up the tools, gamesas.

Vertical Rotation plus Clipping buttons would be too great for the base game and therefore should only be the province of a UGC aka gamer created mod...

Otherwise computer users that have already done this wont feel as cool when also the masses aka everyone can also do this.

Think about how hurt we would feel about this.

My thoughts exactly. Especially with Bethesda; to start with, they give you a canvas with a beautiful backround..then sort of.. "Well, the modders can deal with this while we produce some decent stuff"

Which, on conlose, isnt ideal but heyho.

Im holding out hopes for some hearthfire-esque or some New vegas old world blues "ultamite hub" DLC

Okay. I've thought about it.

gamesas, please include vertical rotation anyway, since many of us buying your product for consoles have absolutely no faith in the ability of Microsoft and Sony to agree on a code validation framework that will give us access to anything other than utterly trivial "Now with moar hair colors!" mods.

That would be great , l would also like to see settlement patrols/recon groups that l can assign to groups of settlers. l clear an area assign a patrol and it stays clear , and you could also get resources from the patrols in that area , the junk is slowly removed to fix my frame rate of having all these big settlements.

Completely scraping an area is badly needed too. l'm playing fallout 4 on PC and my settlements are very large, the larger settlements with alot of space have around 30 to 40 npc's too.
