For the final battle with Alduin i want to fight him as a dr

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 4:23 pm

I would like to fight not as a dragon but as a man, it gives a more epic vibe for me. I want to feel like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kBN340vd4 when fighting him

Not the best example. That wasn't a battle of man or wizard vs a demon. That was a battle of a Maia vs a Maia. And while Gandalf may have looked old and frail, he was actually quite a strong Maia.

Erm, to all the people saying violence isn't always the answer, do you really expect to be able to talk a dragon out of destroying the world? Really?

OT: I don't want to fight a dragon as a dragon, it would ruin the fight. You don't turn into your enemy to defeat your enemy. What I do hope for is something akin to the Knights of The Nine end fight, in which you are given special weapons/armor to defeat him. I can picture some badass armor and weapons inscribed with words in the Dragon Language that give boost to Dragon Shouts/Allow you to damage Alduin.

How exactly do you kill the dragon king of time, and world eating? smack him in teh fanny with a sword? If im learning his language i should at least be able to try it

edit, i guess you could use some awesome dragon shout to take him down, but that seems a little anticlimix-ish

Like I said, the fight would be akin to the Knights of the Nine fight in which you need unique, ancient equipment to beat him. But, a way to talk him out of it would be this: One of the dialouge options (assuming he talks to you) would be entirely in characters from the ancient language Beth has been working on. This would begin a conversation entirely in Dragon, and eventually lead to him being banished/vanquished. Thing is, if the conversation system is overhauled so that time passes, you must be able to read Dragon well, and make sure you don't piss him off.

Just a thought.

Actually, you wouldn't need to. Beth has created an entire alphabet for Dragon, as said in the Skyrim GI. So, you would just need to learn the written language outside of the game.

Dragon on dragon action hey? Kinky...
No seriously, I thought of that aswell, but it would turn out to be a dull fight I think. I would like to kick his ass with the character I created, with the equipment and abilities of my own choosing,it would be different and epic every single time, unless of course is a scripted battle

None of the vote options are appropriate for my female character. But no, it wouldn't "feel" right. I would like many methods of dealing with it, but becoming a dragon is not one of them.

Alduin is a dragon who will literally eat the world, and I don't think he really needs to chew. I'd say a little too big for mortals to fight.

Instead, I bet it'll either be a situation in which Shor will intervene, the PC prevents the apocalypse by stopping Alduin from awaking as Alduin, or the world ends :whistling:

Maybe they'll take a page from New Vegas and you can talk Alduin into leaving.

I would rather have to use a combination of all the dragon shouts in order to effectively cripple and defeat Alduin.

I think that it would kind of defeat the purpose of spending the whole game getting your character ready to fight Aludin, if you didn't even use him. BUT mabye after defeating him, you could absorb his soul (or whatever Dovakliin does to dead dragons) and get the final dragon shout: one that gives you the ability to turn into a dragon! Y'know, Kind of like a reward for beating the game. Then the people who wanna be a dragon can mess around all they want, but the people the people that don't want it aren't forced into using it.

Honesty loads of people have for years cried "we want dragons", so much so Beth kept putting in little jokes about them in their games...

Now they've caved to the market we have...... "we want to be dragons".

Uggh I want Icecream served up to me on the naked body of a dev, can I have that.

Going a bit into lore, would not the reappearance of dragons itself symbolise a dragon break.
As a bunch of dead non existant beasts of huge power reappearing one day, as well as the Dragonborns rebirth.
Would seem like a non linear break in time itself to me.

No, only the dragons of Akavir were all killed. The dragons of Morrowind continued to live and there was even a dragon in Redguard. The peoples of Tamriel "believed" they were all dead and extinct they were just missing, not extinct.

Now they've caved to the market we have...... "we want to be dragons".

They didn't cave, it was just an interesting next step in the series. Dragons have always been part of the lore, they just never have been in the game in force. There was always this mysticism behind them. Then they decided it was time for their return. If the dwemer were to reappear, would it be caving into those that want dwarves in the game? No, it would just be a nice plot.

Thanks I took the Akavir lore and pretty much took that as gospel for everywhere.

Bwahaha, not to mention Cliffracers of doom that will swarm the dragons for you. This was in the lore with the dragons of Morrowind. The cliffracers expanded from Skyrim into Morrowind and ran the dragons out and they headed to Cyrodiil and then disappeared. Gotta love cliffracers, they even annoyed dragons into quit playing TES

No to turning into a dragon.

And no to "talking Alduin away." We don't need another Mehrunes "haha you can't fight me" Dagon anti-climix. What's the point of building up to the main antagonist if you can't even take a swing at him?

We won't fight Alduin. He's returning to apologize for abandoning his children.

Also, the Akatosh / Alduin debate is very, very boring. Was Anakin Darth Vader? (Well, from a certain point of view...)
