For the Legion!

Post » Mon Oct 25, 2010 7:17 pm

Legion looks a little lame. Not only are they less likely to have advanced tech, but they also wear skirts. Plus I don't really want to play as an evil character.

Don't you make fun of skirts! I know for a fact that one of the Obsidian devs, of who the name slips me, has worn a kilt on atleast one occasion while riding his motorcycle (they sure like riding them, the dev team).

So many people mock the man-skirts, it annoys me so much that during my CL playthrough I may feel inclined to kill every NPC that dares to mock the Legion for wearing them.

They'll tell tales of how they defended the thermal-plant from the overwhleming NCR forces but eventually they lost, but took hundreds with them.

In the screen that is linked somewhere in this thread, you can see that some of the CL have powerfists. How rare are power fists typically? (srs. question)

My ancestors drank until they could no more.. and then drank some more. My ancestors also were, according to Family Guy, the most advanced civilization around until they created beer.

I'm a svcker for Romans so I may end up siding with both the NCR and Caesar's Legion.

What are the chances of seeing a futuristic Spartan style power armor? I'll definitely side with them if i can get that.

i said it before, i'll say it again. if we find out that Caesar's Legion has a headquarters within the Caesar's Place hotel in Vegas, we should have an option to meet the leader, then persuade a few soldiers and the leader's right hand man to overthrow their leader. you can pick up a special ritual knife nearby and stab the leader, he will fall out of his chair and shout ot "Et Tu?" and die, you get 1000XP for killing him and "Repeating History" then you have to deal with a civil war. joining the legion requires that you get a tattoo of http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stephen.hollingdale/index_files/spqr_logo.jpg this would mimic the slaver tattoo in Fallout 2, and just be awesome.

Wait the Caesars Palace is in Because I really doubt that. They havent used any other real life places so I doubt thats gonna happen.

That would be weird since a crap load of NCR soldiers occupy the Vegas Strip.

More likely a sports stadium (for training and auctions).

 Is there one in Vegas?

Nice TF2 reference. :P

But I think they hold to much pride in what they are to hide themselves.

I would assume the legion has at least one football stadium as a base, since most of their armor is made from football gear.

yeah, i'd think so too, maybe if you want to meet the leader of their legion, they'd have a safehouse right under the nose of their most hated foe, and you have sneak through the strip like Dmitri Petrenko and Sergeant Reznov like in Vendetta in Call of Duty: World At War. (or like the All Ghilied up in COD4) another thing they can do is tell you to meet a spy in that building, and supply you with a uniform, but if you use your stats right on one of the other legion troopers, he will tell you thats the "joke uniform" that they supply to initates that dont get the Sergeants approval, the NCR will recognise you as a Caesar's Legion trooper with that fake unifrom on, and the sergeant gives you a real uniform as an apology. now that wouldnt be bad...or you could stealthily kill an NCR soldier nearby and steal his uniform. but heres something else to think about:

a soldier sticks out if he isnt in his uniform, so what if when you kill a guard and steal his uniform, a sergeant nearby asks you why theres blood on your uniform, or why its in bad condition, or ask why your uniform is in such better condition than everyone elses, he may sniff you out as an imposter through speech, or you can persuade him, bribe him, or do other options.

this could go for any faction really...

If they are Roman styled, why would we see something Spartan styled? Different time and location, man (or well, somewhat.)

If we're spotted in disguise do you think they'll shout "stop right there, criminal scum!"?

Or if there would be a situation where you could get out of a fight by paying the Legion. Of course, if you say no...

"Then pay with your blood!"

I'm excited to see how the CL will be in the game. Their armor, weapons, and characters will probably be very cool, not to mention the whole "Loot, Kill, and Crucify" thing is pretty crazy.

I hope we can buy slaves from them. Use them to carry my stuff (not weapons). It would be awesome to buy slaves from CL. It would be even better if you made the mistake of giving them a weapon and they turn on you. For hardcoe mode I think it would work out well. I make them carry all my heavy stuff and when they die of dehydration I will have a nice meal :D. Could do alot of things with a slave . Use them for cannon fodder as well.

If we can do this I would enjoy making an evil character :D.

I don't want all the slaves to be as complex as a follower but to just be able to have a generic NPC.
