For the love of god, bethesda

Post » Sat Dec 03, 2011 7:02 pm

this post is my rant on 2 choices bethesda has made which made this 300+ hour game into a 30- hour game

First, then ingame difficulty slider. this completely ruins any need to "work" to get stronger, when you can simply change it anytime. There is no consenquences for turning it all the way down, yet no rewards for turning it all the way up. i know some people think "just dont use it" but when your in a dungeon and youve been killed 5 or 6 times, your pretty much force to use it. you should pick the difficulty when you create a new game, and can not change it after words. or atleast the option at the beggning to allow yourself to change it or not.

second, and this is for pc only, the developers console is too damn easy to access. atleast make it so you have complete a certain number of quests or something to use it. again people may say "just dont use it" but its so dumb running to do quests to get money to buy mats for smithing or something, when you could just get the armor you want with the console.

these two "features" of the game completely spoiled it for me. i know i shouldnt use it but i cant seem to help myself when i need to get money,

so bottom line, when we create a new game, let us choose if we want the devlopers console to be accessible for that character, and also to disable the in game difficulty slider. maybe then id have to spend more than a day to be god in the game.

It sounds like you're blaming Bethesda when you should really be blaming your lack of self-control...

You do know that the developer console is called the developer console for a reason, right?

If you had to beat quests to use it, they never would have been able to debug any of those first quests.

Is this really what we're reading? That you're complaining to Bethesda that you cannot stop yourself from cheating yourself?

Massive facepalm. In fact everyone facepalm me, I don't have enough palm.

Look I'm of the camp that thinks exploits should be fixed instead of just "not used" but this is going WAY overboard.

Let's start complaining about fast-travel existing too, so we can have all our "I have no willpower" topics in one place.

Take some responsiblity for you own actions and stop blaming others. Those mechanics aren't ruining the game for you, you are ruining it yourself. Grow up.

If this was even a bit funny I would think it`s a joke.. But since it`s hard to take as one: Are you really such a sad person? So basically if there was a console command to just complete the whole game you would propably execute it and rant about the game being too easy with the option to do so.. :D

I ate too many big macs and got fat, I'm suing you McDonalds!

If you have too much trouble with a dungeon, leave it. Level up, and come back. Voila, it's now easier. I had a couple I had to leave because a Bandit with a 2H Sword would insta kill me.

Common sense people, seriously.

Self control challenge:

Don't put slider below normal difficulty.

Don't use alchemy to boost blacksmithing or enchanting.
