For the love of god. Please don't simplify the game.

Complexity to me is what makes TES amazing. Oblivions complexity was a cupcake to a wedding cake compared to Morrowind. Seeing as they have taken out stats and some skills out and replaced them with the perk system is ok. But I've heard they might take out spellmaking. And that is a real downer. Since it really enforces roleplay and creativity into the game. But PLEASE for the love of god. Don't simplify it. There is a point in simplification where it just becomes linear like The Witcher, Fable and.... Ugh... Dragon age (Worst 60$ ever spent).

I'd like to believe Bethesda have more sense than to go down that road... I mean surely they're aware of all the bad publicity many games have been getting for being simplified/dumbed down.

Complexity is absolutely not always something good.

Although yeah, of course there is a limit of how much a game should be simplified. I personally think that Skyrim has reached that limit.

Thanks MK for teaching me, i'll be forever grateful!

I don't see why complexity would lessen sales. Unless they are COD dwellers and complexity is scary to them.
And, before someone flames at me, I'm not saying everyone who plays COD is simple in the head.

Average gamer dumb. No want complex. Want simple. Velorien smash!

Or, oh wait, all of that is not true. People just think the average gamer is a Call-of-Duty-playing 10-year-old.

Complexity doesn't have anything to do with it, but everyone likes being irrationally pessimistic these days and thinking that everything is worse than it was in every way.

Spellmaking was allways a joke it did not add complexity, and remember that complexity is not actually good, its DEPTH that is good, example the terrible witcher and witcher 2 interface systems and controls, complex, but not good. O wait maybe Im mixing up words, hmm well suffice to say that COMPLICATED is not good. But anyway Id rather have extremely intricate and well crafted particle effects unique to each spell rather than a bunch of lame spells that are interchangeable so as too make spell making possible. As in oblivion every spell was a ball of color

It won't be as complex as Morrowind or Oblivion when it comes to pure stat lists and numbers, but it'll result in a more unique/specialized character in terms of gameplay than in tes3/4; aka more replay-ability. Kinda reminds me of Diablo III's new skill rune system and how they "simplified" attributes and removed the talismans - so many more gameplay options and variability - but people QQ due to "less number lists"

Skyrim has "less number lists", but hell my dagger finally has a use in stealth, I can slow time zoom, I can finally specialize 1 of each weapon type, etc. Gameplay > Nerd numbers.

Also - The combat, npcs, and world will be considerably more complex.

do not ever compare this game series to fable or dragon age.. never played the witcher.. but seriously fable one was sick and two was awful and three.. i thought they were doing a joke or something. anyways Todd is a very smart guy he has a reason for everything he took out attributes and i was pissed... then i heard his reasoning and to me its genius and i love the new system. Just trust me it will work out
