for the men playing as a female character

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 7:47 am

So let's say that I'm playing a female orc, and she decides to get married, what would she be looking for?

For some reason reading your post I imagined female orcs like this:

"Me want Snoo-snoo! This Gruk gra-Bork's first time. BE GENTLE!"...

I used to pick char genders bc of stats. Argonians/Orcs/Dunmer/lolreallyallofthem had better mage-stats if they were female. Now? Not so much. Probably play a female char if she's cute.

Probably play a male char if he's cuter.

I've always enjoyed exploring the romantic interactions that developers put in games... although usually I'm disappointed at the chauvinistic pandering that constitutes romance in modern games. In all games I've played that hav eromance options, I've taken the time to romance all the various gender combinations. That said, I'm a hetero male. My first character is likely to be a virtualization of myself in game, to the bet of my ability. When I roll a female character, I'll go with a Nord woman so the plot makes sense, or model her after my gf. Gender and orientation of the romance will depend entirely on situational context within the game.

All that out of the way, my male character will likely romance a craftswoman or someone who has their own life while I'm out adventuring, if there is anyone like that to be found. My female character will likely look for somebody unhindered by tradition and rules, and unthreatened by her independence. My 3rd character may be eye-candy though.

I will marry the person I like the most, and who is also willing to marry me, ofc:)

Gender doesn′t matter, it′s 2011 for me in games aswell.

It depends on how I make her character tbh. I make straight/homo/bi characters of both genders all the time, and in with marriage being in game, I will look for NPC's that work well with my character.

I imagine if I do choose to play a female character she'll be staying single.

It all depends on which characters are actually interesting or nice to be with. What gender they end up being is completely beside the point tbh.

I've always found the whole "Roleplaying as a female" thing a bit weird if you're male.
It seems to be akin to having a living doll that carries out your every command.
Sort of... Serial killer-ish.

EDIT: Although, who am I to judge? I plan to play as an anthropomorphic kitty cat.

Serial killerish? Really? Should I make a fun in the farmhouse joke about the fact you're playing a giant cat? Snark and teasing is one thing but that's a bit much...playing a female character doesn't mean you have a collection of severed feet in your freezer.

I sometimes make female characters. I am not sure how Skyrim handles romances yet, having not played it of course, so I'm not sure I'll have my male or female characters involved with NPCs. I'm a little more critical of male NPCs in games though, I guess I view my characters almost like family in a way and nothing is worse than a sister or cousin that dates some cheeseball of a guy which I can't stand. If I can't find a cool character, then they'll likely stay single. I'm a little less critical for male PCs finding female romances, but still, I'm picky.

Well i basically role female, because it s more agreable to follow a women rear view...Although i play moost of my time 1rst person. Before anyone says i m sixyst being male prefer to look on gods beauties than an ugly bearbed junk. Im just old fashioned straight.
But anyway creating a nice female is better for the eyes than creating a nice male (or ugly for what matters)

I never got into ths marriage stuff, i find it kind of hard in a world developpping itself as a commoner is impossible, and houses are merely a place to lay out collections of loot.
Even if Skyrim change this commoner concept, i see no attraction in forming a digital family, THE SIMS really aint my cup of coffe.

well, it's better to spend 100 hours in a game looking at a female behind (3rd person) than a male one. (for me at least)

I wouldn't mind checking out my good looking male character's butt....because it makes me wish my butt would be that masculine.

As I play in first person perspective, I have no incentive to play a female character. If my male character marries, it will be to a non-beast female.

If I were to, for some strange reason, decide to play a female character she would definitely be a lisbian.

If I were somehow forced to play a female character and was required to have her marry a male, I would go into the construction kit and do my best to recreate myself as an NPC to fill that role so that I would still be the only male involved in the relationship.

Maybe in a reverse 4thwall breaking, a female character would search out the NPC that best resembles the Player(male)? Whoa

I would look for anyone that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNQ4e_GD6lw#t=0m22s

Young female Dunmer are known for their promiscuity... :hubbahubba:

No, in actuality my character will probably have lots of other things on her mind. Then again if someone happens to catch her eye in some quest, then maybe she'd consider it.

Speaking from what one of my Dungeons and Dragons characters went through, your time for adventuring tends to diminish significantly once kids start arriving. Plus, my DnD character found himself worrying about weather or not he would see his wife again while slaying a giant monsters and such. It's a side of "happily after ever" that was rather unexpected.

Why would you play gay az a straight guy? Im honestly curious and not flaming.

To answer your question, I like the idea of a gay protagonist in story telling. Deviating from what is expected of a hero makes the character seem more real, and also it helps me dissociate my character from myself for the purposes of role playing. Also, it makes the character more alien, more of an outsider to the people he will save, being the hero of the game; the idea of a hero who has little in common with those he is saving seems especially interesting to me.

Also I really like Cpt. Jack Harkness on Torchwood; the character is so complex, it feels like a motif in itself.

Well. I can say I'm female, and my first will probably be female.
But then my second play will be with male.
And I'mma gay up that game.
I'll have husbands in every area. 8D
