For the Republic: Part II: Need help!

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2009 5:37 am

So i am on part 2 of 'for the republic' and im on the brotherhood of steel part. so i was given the quest from Moore to 'deal with the BOS' and i befriended the BOS, and removed mcnamara as elder and allowed hardin to be elder. I went back to Moore at Hoover Dam and it still says I need to deal with the BOS, and the quest has not been completed. So what do i do? Do i have to kill the BOS to finish this quest? Help please

Yes, you have to kill them. Especially since you replaced McNamara. She basically tells you to destroy them as it was.

Yep. That's what you get for putting an obstinate old guard in charge of the Bros. :)

Not really, no. The BoS in New Vegas is a crumbling splinter group from the larger organization. Your options are to convince their more moderate elder to play nice with one of the existing powers ... or wipe them out.

There's isn't a specific BOS path for the main quest although I assume Yes Man doesn't have a problem with them (pretty much everyone else does).

If you befriend the BOS before you start that quest for the NCR and you keep McNamara in charge and you don't sway anyone to Hardin's side you can convince the BOS to fight for the NCR and convince the NCR that this is assistance worth having - so you don't have to blow them up.

Yes Man doesn't have a problem with the Brotherhood, but it's the only one that doesn't.

If you don't replace McNamara then you can get an alliance going between BOS and NCR.

Let me just add that being forced to destroy BOS is the main reason why I prefer working with Yes Man...
Besides, even if you kill it - it will just find another body elsewhere and come back to life. ;)
