For the Republic, Part 2

Post » Sun Mar 14, 2010 9:52 am

So I did How Little We Know before ever talking to Liza, so I hacked her computer, and had to go to the Omertas, but now I can't any dialogue anymore. So basically the quest is stuck there. I have no way to go back unless I start over.

Please find a way to fix this D: I want to keep playing!

I'm sorry to hear of this. I have heard of this issue in many different occasions. It seems that sometimes certain dialogue options are cut out along with dialogue becoming impossible in the worst cases. This is one of those serious bugs that seems to have been affecting many people. I have a problem with the Omertas as well where I couldn't do the proper dialogue with Clanden. Fortunately I was able to still complete the quest even though I had to do it completely half-assed for it to work.

Yeah, when I had to find out what he did or whatever, I just beat him to death, hahaha.

Funny thing is that that is the ultimate ending to that specific objective. You're suppose to kill him but you're only suppose to find that out after conversation. I ended up leaving him alone.

Hahaha. Yeah, and after I did that, and killed the bosses, I went to finish For the Republic, Part 2, and here I am.

So you can't speak with Cachino or turn the quest into Colonel Moore at Hoover Dam? Did you get Cachino's journal from his deck in his suite? If you can't speak with any Omertas (since you killed the bosses it sounds like it doesn't matter) you could kill them all. If you can't turn the quest into Colonel Moore you could always try Yes Man, Mr. House, or Legion instead.

I've got his journal and all, that, I suppose I could "read" it again and see what happens.

ETA: Nope, didn't work. Fix this, Bethesda!

Like I said, if that doesn't work or help in any way at all. Just kill them all as it ends up getting the same solution (remove the Omertas threat).

Yeah, I liked him too but it seems there isn't a work around. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Sorry that nothing helped you out. You got one of those broken quests. In the case of a broken quest you can't fix it and it ends up being one of the countless game-breakers.

Well, my only option now is to go with the Wild Card quests.

I did mention in a previous quest that the last option in all of this is to try Yes Man, Mr. House, or Caesar's Legion.

I killed House, and the Legion hates me. So Yes Man is what I'm gonna do.

You could always wear a disguise around the Legion long enough to gain favor again but Yes Man works fine enough although I hate that ending. I won't spoil it for you though.

Eh, I hate both sides. I'm just gonna wait for it to get patched up, which I really hope is sooner than later.

I actually like NCR. I remember back when they were first mentioned back in the endings of Fallout1 (I mastered Fallout1, 2, and Tactics awesome styles and got perfect playthroughs and perfect endings on all of them: all good endings, no bad endings) and when they were the biggest faction in Fallout2 back when Tandi was still president. My favorite is still Enclave though. Their goal in Fallout2 was pretty screwed up but in Fallout3 they were technically good guys. Eden was evil because he wanted to use the Modified F.E.V. to kill off all mutations which was the ultimate goal of Richardson and the Enclave in Fallout2 but they planned on using a bomber to release an airborne version. They would've done it too if it wasn't for that meddling Chosen One. In Fallout3 Eden was stupid but Colonel Autumn was actually intelligent and a good guy. He had no plans on using the F.E.V. and he had the shutdown codes to Eden that he was going to use. His plans were good, he wanted to take over Project Purity to unite the wasteland back under the U.S. government (which the Enclave really was). The Brotherhood of Steel is actually the bad guys because they defected from the U.S. military and stole equipment days before the nukes hit. The whole story of the two hour war is that the two hour war was the time of the nukes flying back and forth. There was another war before that. The Chinese invasion of Anchorage, the annex of Canada, the push back of Anchorage (where the U.S. military successfully pushed the Chinese forces out of Alaska), and finally the march into China. America airdropped [censored]-loads of T-51b Power Armored troops into China where they marched through the country leveling it. The American forces were suffering minimal casualties as the Chinese were dropping like flies. When they started marching into China, the Chinese panicked and launched the first nukes. America retaliated with nukes. America was partially destroyed while large portions of the populace successfully made into Vaults, other fallout shelters, and many survived the nukes just by makeshift cover. That's why throughout all of the Fallout games there are literally tons of survivors roaming around. Although when China was hit by the retaliation nukes they were completed decimated and the entire country was reduced to a smoldering crater. You learn all of this throughout Fallout1&2.

I've played them both, I love them. It's kinda why I too have been following the NCR. But now I'm stuck, ugh.

Fallout1 is my favorite. Yeah, apparently the only Chinese survivors are the Chinese army remnants left in a few places in America along with the Shi. Which end up getting killed off by their own plant project which is funny. Yeah, sorry that I couldn't help out more. If it makes you feel any better I did Yes Man too (I hate his ending). I wanted to do NCR but I didn't know what I was doing until it was too late and I had to finish up with Fat Man.
