For the Vamps! Please read this! :)

Post » Thu Mar 20, 2014 1:10 am

For everyone who have figured out how to become a vampire in eso!
Im sure most of you guys already pre ordered the game and the launch is coming up!

That means that we will see each other soon. Im pretty sure all of you will rush to ***** to contract a vampirism.
Some of us will get there sooner than others so here i have an idea: Please keep it a secret! Do not stream it, don't write about it in your blogs, do not tell anyone in the game! Lets keep it between us, "uphold to a masquerade" if you please  I'm not role playing here or anything i just ask you to do that and we will discuss the meaning and benefits of it later in the game! Lets face the facts that without directions it will be very hard for anyone to know how to contract a vampirism. We will discuss the measures that can be taken further to keep other curious newbies out
So don't give them a clue, keep it to yourself, at least until the firs meeting of "elders" lol

I'm going to just find about it on my own.

Really looking forward of catching vampirism.

But unfortunately there is no way of making sure it stays a secret.

This is the internet afterall.

As much as I like the idea of exclusivity, it's never going to be the case. We all know how to use Google. If people want information, they'll get it.

Don't worry about it too much though; the cons of Vampirism out outweigh the pros, so we're likely to be a rare breed anyway.

Look at eve online! Try to find an info on how to smuggle stuff in eve or how to develop certain drugs. Players there keep it it to themselves and it pays off! :D

Yeah I'd be surprised if an exact guide didn't appear on a blog/YouTube more than a few days after release. It would have the potential to get so many views they would post it just for the exposure.

You forgot coordinates. Although, never checked, are there coordinates you can check in game?

Each zone has locations where random events occur. Thief picking a chest, merchant getting attacked, so on. This is one of those random events, limited to certain time periods.

Or in other words, there isn't one specific place they show up.

The irony is that by wanting to keep this a secret, he's actually ended up drawing more attention to it. Anyone who was previously unsure about how to become a Vampire, need only bookmark this thread.

Part of me feels bad by contributing information. Part of me feels bad for withholding information.

Screwed. Ah well.

Exclusivity. Yay.

I'm still trying to figure out the appeal of trying to recreate V:tM in ESO.

edit: I suppose it's better than trying to recreate Twilight. Somewhat.

I'm more worried about rule #6 of Werewolf Club - I think that's the one about no sniffing without express permission? :)

God characters as I like to call them, the type of roles people flock to in the millions like Vampires, creatures, dragons etc.. I think the only way to really keep them rare and unique is to make them perma death on activation.

Make the role very hard to keep and make the role even harder to earn and maintain, but If earned and maintain the role should be UBER powerful.. I have yet seen a game actually do these roles properly to keep them rare and unique..

I like the way ESO has designed them as far as getting them however, I do not like how they work in game yet... This might all change but if you die as a Vampire, from sunlight or other certain ways then you should should perma-death that character or make that character immune to the disease since they were already afflicted and lost that affliction... Force people that really want this role to really work at it and maintain it..

Sunlight doesn't kill Vampires in the Elder Scrolls universe.

This works in single player with saves etc, this doesn't work so well in an MMO (theirs a reason why we no longer have drop items on death penalties) we can't predict power cuts, lag, server issues, BSOD so it would be unfair to place such harsh penalties on players.

Nope, I will. :turtle:

Be warned, vamps, stay in your caves ...

Why do I all of sudden feel like Tony Stark in Iron Man 3 after calling out the Mandarin?
