For those that beat FO1

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:03 am

Is there a boss in any other game that is as memorable to you as The Master from FO1? The first time I encountered the Master, I was overwelmed with a Keanu Reeves "WHOA." All the voices intertwining and the ociliscope.... CREEPY!!! Richard Grey aka The Master is definately my ALL TIME fave video game villian/boss. There are definatly some good bosses out there, and I'd like to hear all of your guy's opinion on what villians/bosses you like better.

It was pretty damn unnerving when I first ran into him/it. While the intermixing voices isn't a new concept, it was great and not too cliched back when I first played it.

As for the "best boss ever", it's hard to say but I'm thinking back through the games I've played and he's probably one of the more original ones. Obviously as far as boss battles go, it's been outclassed many times over by newer games, but the actual CHARACTER is pretty rad.

I loved him because you didn't even need to fire a shot you could talk him into killing himself and game over

I did love the master as a last battle, but I've gotta admit I got quite a kick out of the final boss in Portal...

Shodan.

The Master was merely physically grotesque.

Shodan was terror incarnate.

No boss ever taunted & tormented you like she did.

the master was really good but i loved the final confrontation with saren in mass effect. i think it was the "there is just no way he's getting back up" factor. my only thought was "i know he has to get back up because he's the [censored] evil dude but he cant... the back of his had is gone... he cant right?"

/Agree on Shodan.

System Shock 2 started out as a cool FPS space shooter, then turned into some biological adventure and then turned into some "The-Matrix-on-drugs" kinda thing.

FO1 characters consisted mostly of sprites, text and the occational movie. They didnt have the same "depth" as Shodan.

Le Chuck
That one. Unlike the 3 stooges losers before him, he keeps coming back to torment Guybrush.

Shodan was a great VILLIAN but I'm not sure she was the best final boss. The actual boss fight was kind of meh. And her big evil reveal and mind**** happened well before the "boss fight". The thing about the Master was that you keep hearing about him but his true nature was just so...unexpected and shocking when I first ran into him.
