Yea I just saw that, great to know that I may finally be able to play this game... I was just about to get rid of it and not pick it up until it was $20 new.

What if the save isn't corrupted only crashes when trying to load?

Typically, if a save crashes the game while loading, there is a good chance that it is corrupted. Just because there is no notification that says "Corrupt" on the dash of the game, does not mean the possibility of corruption is not there. Most likely the save was borked by a glitch while it was in progress.

I hope that's not true..cuz I was only mildly pissed off before, but if it's true my DLC error save is screwed then beth is never getting a dime off of me again. I'll buy used, and no dlc. I honestly wish the console companies regulated these games and fined companies that published games in the sorry state this one is in.

We won't know for sure until the changelog is available for this patch unfortunately. However, the general consensus is that it is a patch, not a magical fix-all cure. It's just a game save file. No need to rage about it.

it's 40+ hours of my life contained in a save file... I don't undervalue my free time...

Monday or Wednesday... Glad it is within this year... Hopefully takes care of the major bugs and glitches. As for having the patch cause 46 glitches i'm hoping single digits.

I guess it's just my opinion which I've formed from reading what many other people have had to say about it, but I believe the update will fix the issue so it won't happen again in the future. I don't believe it will "fix" your corrupted save files. I haven't deleted mine yet just in case, but I have so many characters now because of this glitch that I really don't care about my older ones that were killed by the DLC glitch anymore and I expect to lose them anyway.

That is a good attitude to approach the situation with. It is a distinct possibility that those saves are dusted. I too have a few Auto Saves that got the axe because of this issue. One of which was over 90 hours, and a great build at that.

If you want your hopes dashed, just follow the PS3 forums. The woes continue after the patch.

How can testing the patch with DLC not be done according to your logic? One would think that after this whole debacle, the dev team would absolutely test this patch with the DLC in place to ensure proper assimilation. One would suppose that part of the 2 month delay on the patch went to this very thing. It is not impossible for the developer of the patch to obtain the DLC for testing.

It was a joke about them not testing the actual game

Wow, took a while, but here it (probably) comes, just in time to get people enthused about some DLC perhaps?

Still probably going to be a lot of complaints, the patch doesn't address random freezing issues (as they have no standard trigger, they're random), the PS3 Issues board is worse than it was before. If that wasn't a problem for you (the person reading this, not the poster I'm quoting), the patch should make people happy (no more fear of the DLC bug, though there's been no exact confirmation as to whether or not those saves are recoverable), you'll be able to find your companions with the waypoints, the "Old School Ghoul" quest has apparently been fixed with Ranger Andy's part in it, and they're putting some neat faction armors and such in the various safehouses.

I'm already fairly enthusiastic about the DLC, but I'll wait for a review. It'll give me something to play on Boxing Day :-)
