For those who use Race Balancing Project

I've been playing a High Elf mage in RBP for a while and really enjoy it, but I want to try a more marksman/stealth character. I'm thinking Bosmer or Ohmes, or maybe even Hidden Elf. What race do you enjoy playing in RBP?

Hidden Elf. My character has been a Mystic Elf since...a long time, both of my characters, actually. I just love elves, tall, nimble and intelligent. Before I had Ren's mod, I has a High Elf, but I find Ren's much more attractive (especially after spending uncountable hours working on two faces.)

I normally use Ohmes-Raht or Xivilai, both for the fact that they look really cool in any case, but also because they seem right for what I play. Though I've recently made a Hidden Elf and a Daedra Seducer, though I'm working on my Snow Leopard Khajiit character. It's not in the mod, but the race just seems so cute I had to make one.

I haven't played a Hidden Elf yet, but it does intrigue me. They seem to have pretty decent agility and speed to start with so they could work as an agility-based ranger type, with a bit of sneak and some nice magic skills thrown it. With the right birthsign I could shore him up a bit to get him started. Hmmmm . . .

The fire weakness is kind of annoying, but I think one of the birthsigns helps with that. I'm so biased...

Shadow birthsign seems like it might do the trick. You get a small magicka boost plus resist fire 75, which would put me 25 to the good. The trade off is a weakness to shock of 25. I can live with that. Plus the invisibility power and chameleon toggle are pretty nice bonuses to boot. This Hidden Elf thing is looking better and better. :)

I'm liking the sea elf.... They're kind of a quirky little race, fragile endurance, and some really dangerous weaknesses, but....their once a day spells are really powerful. They a can make their own spells, have an instant kill spell(chance based), and a near immortality spell(time based, and you can't use attacks while invincible.

Daedra Seducers work well as a sort of "jack of all trades" race given their 'forms'.

Of course that is always my character's birth sign. ;P

Edit: I have to thank bg2408, Ren, Robert and Blackdragon66 for allowing me to make my favorite Oblivion characters. :)

Well...
I removed all the balancing out of Race Balancing Project using TES4 gecko, bash patch and a little of Construction Set and I play a Hidden Elf with 50 strength, endurance & luck, 30 personality and 35 of other attributes, racial bonus +100 magicka. Birthsign mage, OOO version (+ 30 magicka, +10 willpower). Very fun to play as good old warrior - mage.

I like playing a Deadra Seducer, since I am using the Enhanced Deadric Invasion mod. I roleplay as a Deadric scout, and help weaken the defenses for the war parties.

I used wyre bash to give a snow-leopard the ohmes skills (invisobility, cat's eye). But I like it when people curse me and call me "fur licker", so I made a khajiit multi-class mage / thief type with the ohmes skills, but khajiit stats.

In a nut shell, if you want to get that, you can either spend a huge amount of time(or maybe not so huge, I haven't looked at it) editing the generic Khajiit dialog quest...
Or you could try using the SetRaceAlias command from OBSE.
I don't have the specifics on hand(closed that tab), but in short, it's "SetRaceAlias (race getting alias ID) (race donor ID)"
For my game(and load order) I use "SetRaceAlias 39000ed3 000223c7". I have Slof's Snow Leopard race down at position 39, so it's 39 at the front. The race ID could be explained to be XX000ed3, where XX is the mod's load position.

Hell, it might even allow you to skip doing any quest edits(such as the portal script for Boethwhata or Idiot Dark elf guy in the jail's dialog), and I personally am testing that extent, and if it saves the info in your save(which would be neat, because I was informed that it didn't).

I couldn' tfina a new rbp thread so I'm asking here. If use xenius races along with rbp can I have the changes that rbp does also do to xenius characters too? like skill and birth signs?

My current PC is an Ohmes ranger/assassin with the Scout birthsign (life detect and nighteye - invaluable). People call me a Bosmer, but that's all right.

Goblue: Whichever mod loads last wins, so if you load RBP last, it should override xenius' changes to birthsigns. I don't know about skills, though.

Yes, you can, but they have to be added to the races in Xenius's Race Compilation, otherwise you won't be able to get the retroactive health bonus(raising Endurance later is no longer useless), scaling magicka bonuses(raise that INT if you want more magicka from your abilities), and the racial powers to be worth using(though this one takes a bit of work on your end, since you must make the powers and lesser powers of the race compilation on par with those out of RBP).

Before RBP I liked to play a Breton for the bonus magicka, and after RBP I naturally moved to Dunmer with a Mage Birthsign.
Ok she will die in 3-4 hits but you have to reach her first through a barrage of summon and fireballs :P.

As strange as it may sound I never tried to play as a unofficial race.

I enjoy playing as a Sea elf. I love how they look with the Iridescent Pearl eyes and coupled with the Ritual you get to be a reaaaaaaaaally scary mage.

Also, playing as a Night Elf (courtesy of Xenius Races whom had stunningly beautiful races but wacky balance) with High elf stats (Did it the hard way and wrote it into the RBP scripts etc, not very hard but I think it could have been done easier) and the Mage birthsign. I always end up playing some low endurance creature and always with some spellcasting ability (til I fire up with DR6 once that's released at least).

Love the balance and the feel of the different races in RBP.

Ohmes-Raht, and Sea Elf. I find both really fun to play. There is something really vibrant and eccentric about Ohmes-Raht characters and something otherworldly and magical about the Sea Elves, I think.

I play a Dunmer 95% of the time. And depending on if I am a fighter or an assassin. Iuse the Warrior or Thief birthsigns.

I love playing as a dark elf, ever since Morrowind I've just found the dunmer culture so interesting. Right now I'm playing a Morrowind born Dunmer mercenary who'll do almost anything as long as it pays.

I'm playing a hidden elf with Tower birthsign. I don't worry much about the optimum build, I just play what feels natural. She's an illusionist archer, using mostly mind control spells backed up by poisoned arrows. I'm having a blast. I chose the Tower because of the open hard lock greater power (very useful in an OOO game) and for (I hope) access to reflect damage spells in due course.

Appologies for the minor thread necromancy, but this is a good thread with lots of info regards RBP builds.

I'm going to be starting a new FCOM setup and have GOT to use RBP this time!

The Hidden Elf / Shadow birthsign looks a good combo

Any other recommendations anyone?

Ohmes-raht and daedra seducers mainly. I'm playing a seducer with the warrior birthsign.
