For which reason do you dislike Mothership Zeta?

Inspired by another thread here is a poll. For which reason do you dislike Mothership Zeta?

Do you hate the very idea of aliens, and thus would have hated the dlc no matter how skillfully it was made?

Or do you just dislike the way it was executed, and could potentially have liked it a lot more if it had been done differently, even with still having aliens in it? And by differently I don't mean it just being written off as a hallucination.

I personally think the second option. I don't hate the inclusion of aliens. I just wish it had been done differently. It was too combat heavy really for my liking. I'm not against combat, but Mothership Zeta was based too heavily on combat in my opinion.

I am glad it was created though, because without it one of my favorite quest mods would never have been made. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/8747/?, if any mod deserves to be made canon, it does. Three cheers for the Terran Starship Command.

Easter Eggs are one thing, but MZ attacks the core of Fallout and introduces aliens on such a scale it would forever change the nature of Fallout and turn it into a completely different series. It also would force us to take the idea of Aliens being involved in the Great War and pretty much anything else seriously. We would have to deal with http://www.project610.com/files/Fallout%20Aliens.png

In what way? I can try to edit it if your reasons seem reasonable to me.

So you would vote for all of the above?

The way I see it, just the implication that the aliens had something to do with the great war is just... disgusting! It cheapens the narrative of Fallout.

I would say MZ went to far. I was completely ok with none canon easter eggs and small thing like a UFO report in an old terminal. Small and not conclusive proof referenses. MZ actually trying to include aliens on such a scale into the Fallout Universe is just utter garbage.

To add insult to injury, it wasn't even that fun of a DLC. But yeah there is no way I would be happy having aliens included in the Fallout Universe as anything beyond easter eggs/wild wasteland and unconclusive things like a UFO report.

Edit: I guess the poll as it is is ok. Its just that after countless topics on MZ. There are people that don't mind aliens as easter eggs, but not MZ.

Never mind lol

The neggies -

I didn't like the way the combat levels were set up. It was symetrical and repeated in 3's all the way from the corridors, to this room, and those final 2 rooms. 3 energy cores to destroy and so on and so forth..with a HQ in the middle somewhere. The aliens were so up tight and I felt they just needed them to be toned down. The high pitched murmur of a language they had was damn annoying. I didn't find any of the alien weapons useful or particularly wanted to use them back in the D.C. Wasteland. The alien disintegrator was probably my most used weapon in the DLC but that's as far as it went. I did however parade around Megaton once with my new shiny stuff, making it rain with alien crystals.

But, + side..

Samurai gear and a cowboy revolver. That's all.

-Wait, also more Alien power cells and the fact the homegirl has 100 repair.

-An awe inspiring space walk mission.

-Sweet new home with roommates.

-and finally knowing if people in the Fallout universe think about aliens...

..priceless. err, $10.

didnt like how aliens were turned into a focal point. Hated the story..... full of fetch quests. Also have never seen so many game breaking bugs in one DLC..... happened to me on 2 different discs both in were the same style bug where a door wouldn't open......lame.

Whenever MZ is mentioned, many people say it's rubbish and give vague reasons they never explain

Odd, I don't recall encountering any such bugs, either on Ps3 or PC. Is this a common problem? Where were the doors that wouldn't open?

I am in the camp that aliens are just completely ridiculous in this form, but I also agree with the OP that the mod was too combat heavy. So I guess I would pick both options if I could.

xbox here and I haven't encountered any such bugs except for the ocassional crash.

I would imagine that you feel about MZ the way I felt about OWB's flying brain dialogue, nightstalkers, and robo scorpions.

Both. I don't like the concept of a concrete alien presence in Fallout in general however I'm not going to say with certainty it could never work.

I will say that introducing aliens via a DLC that revolves around traveling into orbit to battle them on their spaceship assisted by a litany of [censored] barely existent characters including a samurai in a linear slugfest was [censored] stupid.
