I'm guessing this is a glitch or bug of some sort but I don't know if it's a well known one. It's round about the beginning of the Forbidden Legend quest. I made my way all the way through Folgunthur and took down the brother named Mikrul whom should have a fragment of Gaulder's Amulet. After killing him I don't have the ability to search his corpse, thus meaning I can't get the fragment to go on with the quest. Luckily I save very often and have one right before beginning battle with Mikrul and all the other Draugers but after trying it several different times and in multiple variations of killing him, I still can't search his body. I checked around the internet and found that if you haven't yet read the notes taken from Valen's body earlier in Folgunthur it won't let you search Mikrul's body, but I have read through the notes. I read them back when I first found them, then again right before I kill Mikrul.

I have a save I can revert back to where I first entered Folgunthur if I can't find a way to go on with this quest but it would be something I'd rather not do. If anyone can help or has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated! In the meantime I'll keep looking around for answers.

Best thing to do is kill Mikrul, then exit the cell (or zone, if you prefer) then re-enter. His corpse should be lootable after re-zoning. Or, if you prefer, load your pre-kill save, exit the area and re-enter then kill him and see if he's lootable. Simply re-loading a save from within the cell and re-killing Mikrul won't clear the glitch, you have let the game re-populate him (either dead or alive, seems to work either way) for him to become lootable.

EDIT: and by cell I mean just the part of the dungeon he's in, not the entire dungeon.

I'm having an issue with the FORBIDDEN LEGEND also. I'm found 2 of the 3 amulets and I have killed everything in the third one but when I went to search the body in Geirmund's Hall, there was no amulet on the corpse. BUT, with the mission selected in the Quests menu, there is an arrow pointing right to where the amulet is suppose to be and it is EMBEDDED in a freaking rock. He was no where near this rock when I killed him and I searched the body and it was not found. I did have an issue earlier where it would not let me search the body for the first amulet in Folgunthur but the way I found around it was after the fight was over I animated his body and he appeared to fight for me, but since everything was dead he stood there next to me for 60 seconds and then turned into an ash pile for me to search and bingo there it was. It did not let me do this in Geirmund's Hall and now I can't continue the quest to open the quest for the person that shall not be named because I can't get the 3rd amulet piece. HEEEEEEELLLLPPPPPPP.

I have this problem too. I had already been into Geirmunds hall and killed him prior to obtaining this quest. Now when i go back in to complete it, the arrow is just pointing to a spot on the floor and there is nothing there, no body, no amulet, nothing. Been in twice now and can't complete the quest. Any ideas anybody.

Thanks, but unfortunately for me, i looted the place pretty early on in the game and got the quest quite a bit later so my Autosaves had been overwritten and also my manuals have too so i can't rewind to a prior save. I might go back in and try again but it looks like (reading other posts) this one knackered until Bethesda fix it.
