I haven't been able to find anything on this...at the very end of 'forbidden quest', everyone is killed except for one 'ghost' above the 3 amulet pedestals to the left. It doesn't have a life bar, but my followers want to fight it. The game is totally stuck there and I can't finish the quest nor can I leave the room. Thanks for any direction.

That quest can be extremely buggy. Your only solution is probably to reload a save prior to entering that dungeon or starting that part of the quest. Also, it might be best to not bring a follower into the dungeon with you in this case, for unknown reasons they can sometimes further complicate things during certain quests that are already buggy.
