Foreign mod important + voice acting = Future MW?

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1491176-talky-morrowind/

*link removed* - Pluto

not sure if the second link is permitted here, something about legal issues, who knows, if so please just edit out

but here's the gist...

over half of morrowind dialogue is already recorded, I believe.

they're rewriting things, to make them less generic (anyone reminded of LGNPC mod from TES3 mod community? yeah. exactly)

so if talky morrowind is slapped together with the voices and that's slapped together with a few people making sure the voice and in-game dialogue matches up...

isn't that a voice acted morrowind?

If they let us, of course. I already asked. What do you think?

(sorry for thread title saying important.. import was the idea)

You definitely should edit out that second link (and the thread title), as mentioning that is a pretty good way to get your topic locked.

talking about skywind is not allowed at all, for legal reasons. anyway, not sure what you are going one about? do you somehow think it would mean a rerelease of morrowind with voice actors or something similar, if so, that is not even a pipe dream.

that's okay I'll wait for the opinion of someone who is sure of what I'm talking about.

or just close the topic. I don't give a damn.

This is entirely possible. In fact I expect it to happen after the Skyrim project is completed. Talky Morrowind is such as useful tool that I was surprised it was only just brought to our attention here on the official forums.

Not for me. I like Morrowind's lack of voice acting myself.

It was, in fact, discussed here when it was still in development. I think at that point the intention was still to record all of the voices, rather than to use a voice synthesiser.

SkyWind and other similiar projects are not open for discussion on the official forums.

Talky Morrowind, and adding user created voices to Morrowind in general is fine, so the thread can stay open if that other project is steered away from.

I always prefered silent dialogues in MW for mods sake,

VO in Oblivion/Skyrim was bad...

No, voice acting has its limitations. Hence why you can hardly put C&C in Skyrim without mostly having silent dialogue.

This. Aside from anything else, having the entire game voice acted and then some (mod added) dialogue silent completely breaks the immersion when playing with mods.

Although true, that's entirely up to the voice actors. They're already so benevolent as it is. Contacting them wouldn't be an insane endeavor.

Heck I have a 100 dollar microphone next to my computer and speak fluent english. It wouldn't even be an insane endeavor for me to put out some imperial or breton dialogue.

I've got a dialog character in my upcoming Ald-ruhn Expansion 2.0. This character has twenty-one lines of dialog and each of them will be spoken and text.

The smart modder will be able to get a hint as to how it's being done by looking at this screenshot.

And it's all good. Except for the fact I want to attach sound to everything now. I've even got a bird that eats peas and pukes pearls. All with sound effects. I also got hopes of delivering a secret Leonard Nimoy. I found a whole lot of him reading quotes. Legalities maybe, but it's going to be too neat not to try.

Well golly jee, the extravagant modder who never releases a mod that isn't full of way more detail than any other mod of similar size and idea is actually interested in adding voices to mods.

Who'da thunk?

lol I'm just poking fun. I've noticed your mods are always full of stuff. Crankgorilla makes mods as an undercover CPU assassin.
