IMPORTANT: I just want to make it clear to everyone, for future posts, not to post too far ahead of the times I give. It throws everyone else off, who might get confused, and then we have problems with the time differences, and people having to go back to edit their posts to match with everyone else's. So from now on, if I post a single moment in time, and not from Time A to Time B, you're to only post 5 or 10 minutes ahead, nothing more.

It saves everyone a lot of trouble, and me having to do damage control, because even a simple thing like time can throw everything off and takes time that could be spent posting, spent fixing things.

Yes, my next post will have Sam reaching the mouth of the tunnel where everyone will be at, around 12:05, where we'll all go to the defenses together as a Section. So everyone should post at least once or twice, before I do, so everyone knows where everyone's at, and nobody's left behind, because the next posts after my coming one, will be setting the stage for the battle even more, and it's important everyone be on the same page and understanding.

I'll do my best to post, but these next two weeks for me are a bit hectic, five A-level exams starting tomorrow.

Dr, Strangelove, are you going to post to advance the time so we can all post about getting to the tunnel? I just didn't want to go post about ti and screw up the continuity of the time stuff stuff going on.

Your post should lead up to your character (and their group members) forming at the tunnel, yourselves (so everyone's post should be as Jonas did, and end their posts forming together at the tunnel). Once everyone, or mostly everyone has done so, I'll post us all going through to the wall and forming with the other two Sections at the wall already.

Alright, hold up a second, don't everyone start setting up shooting positions all at the same time now. Ranger Hawk and Undead Fiend, you two have to edit your posts ASAP. Neither of you (or anyone else) are supposed to be setup for combat where you are, because there is nothing to setup to (there is no wall here, just the mouth of the tunnel). You both seemed to have ignored Jonas' post, which was correct with his Group just simply gathering at the mouth of the tunnel, not setting up for battle.

It looks sort of weird when you read and imagine one player's Group standing at the side, waiting for the rest, and having two others somehow all spread out and looking down the sights of their rifles, waiting for the Tribals. This is why it's important to read one another's posts, because then everyone knows what everyone's doing. The orders Sam gave in the first place, were to assemble at the mouth of the tunnel, not setup positions at the mouth of the tunnel, we'll do that when we reach the actual wall, which is on the very end of the tunnel, not this end facing the town. You're all just assembling beside one another for a quick roll call so Sam knows everyone's there, and then we'll move on.

So both of you, edit ASAP, I don't want anyone from here on out, unless I make it clear (and trust me you won't miss it, or misjudge,) that we're setting up to fight and defend. You're all suppose to assemble together, and then my next post will have us all going through the tunnel together.

Just a warning, I know nothing of the intricacies (or even the basics, for that matter) of warfare, so expect my battle posts to be pretty turd. Apologies far in advance if I cause any confusion.

Ever see a war movie? If not, my god where the hell have you been (:P ). But really, just watch a couple clips of battles on Youtube of something.

Sure, but you're going to want to get caught up with my posts, if you haven't been following already? You'll be jumping in right before the first battle, so it's important you know what's going on, etc. so nobody gets confused, and things like that.

I may have misread your post, Zuke, but I don't think everyone would be standing their emotionless, as you appeared to describe it. I know I'm a newb at this, but that sounds highly unrealistic, and I think some of the descriptions in my next post will contradict what you wrote a little bit. I understand that some people are harder than others and that Whittier is a town of survivors, but still.

Sorry. :( I am really liking your posts, by the way. They're very evocative and generally enjoyable. Your characters are fun to read about. :)

And thanks for the advice, Jonas. I'm sure it won't be too difficult. :)

Aren't we on the wall anyway? What's the benefit of being in a trench behind a wall as tall as a person? You wouldn't be able to see the enemy until they climbed over the wall or have I missed something?

No Zuke, they haven't. You're going to have to go back and edit your last two posts so they flow with everyone else's. I hadn't realized it before, but the orders from Sam were to have all Group Leaders form up their Groups at the mouth of the tunnel as a Section, so then we could all be together and move through the tunnel itself. Not have you go digging a trench somewhere in front or behind the wall. And like Athell said, it doesn't make sense for you to be digging a trench or foxhole behind or in front of the wall. Not only because would you either not be able to see the attack and it would be putting a trench where a trench isn't needed (it would only hinder a possible retreat,) but if you had it up front, you'd be quickly surrounded and cut off from the rest of the militia at the wall.

It's important to realize when I say something specific like ordering everyone to go form at the mouth of the tunnel, or form along the wall, that you do it. If not, then people start to wonder why this person is doing this, when I said to do this other thing that they're all doing.

Until the fighting in Whittier is over with, and we get to expand more from the town, out into the Alaskan Wasteland, and I start handing out objectives for you all to take on as we progress, you have to follow what I'm saying. Later, when you're tasked with a battle, you can handle it anyway you want, but right now this battle is to just get the ball rolling and stuff like that. That's why I'm sort of being such a control freak, and wanting everyone to go about it this way, because it's not until this is all over that we get out into the wasteland and start being able to be really, really, really creative in our battle tactics.

M'kay then. I'll just get rid of one post and try to combine the entire thing into the later post I entered.

Accidentally posted twice, also I'm gonna be back tracking.. might be minor confusion with the time, seeing how you [Strangelove] already posted. You can figure out why that is.

But yeah, I'll have to add it some time tomorrow.

No problem, I checked your page and saw it was your birthday, so didn't worry about it. (Happy belated birthday by the way.)

Just so you know, you didn't have to make a post to reserve a new post. All you had to do, was delete what you had on your last post, and edit that one. It would have been a lot easier, and the RP wouldn't be cluttered with worthless posts now. So just for future reference (and this is to everyone also) if you're going to make a completely new post, and get rid of an old one, don't post a new post reserving or something (I don't like reserving posts anyway, they're just clutter and spam to me,) so just repost your edit in the old post and we'll be good.

And if anyone's waiting on Zuke now to post, unless it's vitally important like interaction with her, or something like that, don't get hung up and post your next point if you've got one ready. We're all setting up along the wall, so just go with that. I'll initiate the beginning of the battle, when everything's in place.

Malcolm was born in the town of Lancashire to two settlers who were trying to escape the fighting between the organized towns and the tribals. Life was rough and was no place for a child to grow up. His parents provided as best they could as scavengers but many nights they went hungry. Other families in the settlement often took pity on him providing Malcolm with leftovers, and when they could warm clothes. Malcolm grew up despising his parents for allowing him to become a charity case and hating his life in the isolated town.

His father died near his thirteenth birthday leaving his family in a good deal of debt on account of his gambling problem. His mother was forced to abandon the family scavenging operation and take on three jobs to survive. Malcolm was also forced to get work in order to pay off his deadbeat father's gambling debts.

Five years of toiling later Malcolm and his mother managed to pay off the last of the outstanding balance. Now no longer having a reason to stay Malcolm left home seeking a fresh start somewhere else. For a year and a half he wandered the land selling the bits of refuge he found during scavenging runs to keep himself afloat. Although he visited many towns over the course of his travels he routinely returned to a town called Whittier where he felt at home. Eventually he decided to cease his aimless wandering and make Whittier his home.
