A Forgotten Land

Story

The year is 2198, mid-December, and in the land long forgotten about by those in the south, an Alaskan town by the name of Whittier, just south of Anchorage, is about to go to war. For months, the mayor and council leaders of Whittier, have worked to negotiate and settle differences with nearby tribal clans, who aren’t too friendly to one another either; but they share Whittier as a common enemy, and so have recently focused on that. But as it is, the talks between Whittier’s leadership and the tribal’s leadership, eventually broke down after tribals were suspected of ambushing a much needed caravan shipment, to Whittier.

After the ambush incident, the talks continued for another couple of weeks, the tribals denying the attack to the very end, when finally the leadership of Whittier gave up, and declared all out war on the surrounding tribal clans, that together, very much out numbered the men and women who took up the title of Whittier Militia.

Without much help from other settlements and towns nearby, who also have trouble with the tribals, Whittier has been left to fend for itself, to take a stand against the coming horde of tribals, and fight to their dying breath. All looks bleak and hopeless for the people of Whittier, who are made up of a collection of all sorts of people, and yet the people still hold out hope and have high morale for the impending attack on their town.

People will die, lives will change, but with the determination of the people of Whittier, they’ll come out on top to fight another day.

Your Involvement

In this RP, you’re one of many militia members to take up arms to defend the town of Whittier against the impending tribal hordes. The Whittier Militia is a well organized group, and more or less, just a small mediocrely trained and armed, army of towns people. You’re one of the many group (squad) leaders, in charge of 5 NPC’s who can die if and when I choose, or by your own doing if you want. If I choose to kill off one of your NPC’s, I’ll PM you first before doing so, but just remember that it’s not the end of the world. NPC’s are replaceable at a later time. Your character will all be led by my own character, who will issue orders, and things like that to your group. You’re free to tackle the objective(s) however you like, with another player. When I issue certain things, it’s likely you’ll be doing it with another player at your side, and not just alone, so you’ll both have to plan and work together as a team, on how to achieve your mission goal(s).

However, you won’t always win, and to give some life to the other side, and make it not so void, I’ll be playing the enemy leader in battles you’re against. Like I said, you won’t always win, and you won’t always come back without a few scratches or losses here or there. But again, you won’t always lose either. It’s up to you and whoever might be with you, to realize when it’s best to call it a day and pull back or whatever, so you don't lose your entire group; which could happen if you're not careful as well.

Hopefully by giving you command of some characters, this will also give you some versatility in giving input on how the RP goes, and what directions it takes through the course of time. I’m also giving you all the chance to give input on what direction you think we should take, which you can PM me, or just post it in the OOC thread. If I like it enough, and you’ve given me good detail on your idea(s), I may consider inserting it somewhere that keeps the story fluid and continuing, so your idea(s) might not get done right away.

Brief History of Whittier
Spoiler
When the bombs dropped, Alaska wasn’t hit as horribly as the lower 48 States were, but they still felt the heat and saw the horrors of nuclear armageddon. Anchorage was left in ruins after a couple nukes hit it, sending those who hadn’t already fled from the city, to do so out into the wilds of the world. While places like Fairbanks, were instantly and completely cut off from the rest of the world.

Whittier was kept safe, and only felt the aftermath of the nuclear war, with high levels of radiation floating around in the air, dust, and snow. Lots of people from Anchorage, fled to Whittier, a lot of them dying when they got there, but plenty of others surviving, and living on to see the new world as it formed.

For months, the people of Whittier worked to eek out some sort of living in the post-nuclear world, lots more dying, but again, many surviving to continue on. Life was tough, and Whittier soon came into contact with survivors from other areas of Alaska, some of which had come back from Anchorage after finding it in ruin and bathed in radiation.

The leadership in Whittier, is a basic one, with the Mayor of the town, Mayor James Poke, acting as the overall leader, and a group of four selectively chosen townspeople, known as the Council of Four, who handle various other problems in the town, the Mayor himself can’t handle alone, or has time for.

Since, however, the bombs fell and things changed, Whittier has become a town of traders and people of skill; ranging from simple hunters, simple farmers, and even some mercenaries. But as time went on, and things began to settle a bit into what they are, the people of Whittier slowly began to rub against groups who had given up on the life in towns and cities, instead making a life for themselves as tribal-types. The two sides quickly took a dislike to one another, when Whittier tried expanding it’s food source area, and the tribal’s pushed them away from what they claimed as their own. The other settlements and towns in the area, also came into trouble with the tribals, and soon it was townsperson vs. tribal, and neither side was willing to give up what they wanted in a world that was so unforgiving.

To protect themselves, Whittier and other places, began gathering some of their people, to act as a protection force against the tribals. Neither Whittier or the other towns cared to depend on Mercenaries, seeing how they could leave at any moment, when the pay was raised by someone else, and so they kept to trusting their own. The tribals, already having come together in their own little clans, to protect themselves from the wilds of Alaska, and each other, began to set their eyes on war with the settlement and town dwellers.

And so, in 2198, the friction between the two has finally come to a peak, and the Whittier Militia is at the forefront of the tribal coalition.

The Whittier Militia
Spoiler
Made up of men and women alike all citizens of Whittier, the Whittier Militia has no official type of military etiquette when it comes to guns and armor. “Whatever you have, you bring,” is their (unofficial) motto, no matter how bad of condition it might be in, it’ll serve some use till it won’t. They were originally formed as a group of locals, meant to mostly look out for the simple farmer’s lands, but the Whittier Militia has become much more than that, in a short period of time. Nowadays it’s duty is to defend anywhere the Mayor and Council of Four, say to defend.

However, those in the militia don’t live and eat in the militia full-time like an old world army would, the Militia is more or less a side job, called upon to do it when the time is needed. So in the meantime, the Militia members go about another job or two, to sustain them.

The ranks in the Whittier Militia, are few, seeing as they’re not a professional army like the old world, or trained to be. The ranks are as follows:

- Grunt: Your average volunteer with no authority. Trained to do all sorts of basic military things, like shoot a rifle straight, put on armor, cover, etc. Found in groups of six, plus their Group Leader.

- Group Leader: Commands over a group of five Grunts, in a Group Unit. They’re not only trained in what the Grunts are, but they make up those chosen from the trainees of Grunts, who showed the most promise, and are thus trained in extracurricular things, such as basic tactics and commanding.

- Section Commander: Commands over a larger bunch of Group Units, known as a Section, giving orders to the different Group Leaders. Like Group Leaders chosen from the most promising, Section Commanders are chosen from Group Leaders with the most promise and understanding of combat situations, and thus given command of a Section of Group Units.

Job: Hustler & Work Hand
Personality/Bio: Born sometime after the bombs fell, Samuel Plainview, or as he’s usually just called, Sam, has known nothing of the past world but what he’s seen in the wasteland of Alaska. He wasn’t originally from Whittier, he was born somewhere out in the wasteland, in an old cabin from what his mother told him, somewhere further north than Anchorage. For most of his life, Sam has been a hustler of sorts, all from his father’s teaching of showing him how to survive in the world, without having to always use a gun. His traveling around various towns and settlements, playing fools out of their days pay, or sometimes life earnings if they’re stupid enough to bet such a thing, has created a reputation for Sam, as a genuine card player; which is what he’s really good at. It’s also gotten him into plenty of trouble, but nothing that he hasn’t been able to walk away from in some state.

Later on in life, as he traveled some more, Sam set himself up in the town of Whittier, playing the tables of the saloon every night, and always coming away with something interesting and new besides caps. One night, he walked away with a deed on some man’s wife, but decided not to take it, seeing how women were always trouble for him.

After awhile of playing Whittier, Sam began to get anxious about staying. He felt his time was up, just as it had been in the previous towns he’d swindled and hustled. But his timing was bad, and when things with the nomadic tribals began to heat up, Sam decided to stick in Whittier to see how things went. When they started to go even worse, and the roads out of Whittier got more and more dangerous, Sam decided to stay, and even took up citizenship in the town, buying a small house near the water, with his saloon earnings.

Since his take-up in Whittier, things have gotten worse, and so has his anxiousness to move. One night, Sam’s luck even ran out at the saloon, and he was arrested for hustling one of the patrons in a game of poker. The Council of Four, who took up Sam’s judgement, gave him the two choices: either be banished from town, or join the militia to serve the town proper. The next day, Sam joined the Whittier Militia, thinking it would also be a good place for him to stretch his legs a bit, and not get shot dead on the road so easily, as if he’d chosen the banishment. Little did he expect, but all during his training, Sam caught the eye of his superiors, and soon found himself a year later, after training and more training, a Section Commander, leading an entire Section by himself.

He takes the job seriously enough, with his skills in manipulating helping him and his Section to achieve their goals, and beat the opposing team on the training courses through wits and brawn. His other job outside the Militia however, still continues to be a bit of a hustler and more narrowly, a general work hand for those who need something done.

His face sports wrinkles around the lines and forehead demo his rough, often grimly-set face. For his thirtieth birthday he chose to shave his hair off, deciding it was time for a new look. Like most his age, he is still a hard-working man, and is quite fit like the vast majority of his age group. There are scars all about his person from minor incidents while not in actual combat, the biggest from his childhood. Job: Doctor/Scientist (novice herbalist)

Bio: Wesley lives in a house with his mother, Sofia, father, Elijah and brother, Sebastian. They moved to Whittier from Northern Canada, which was all but forsaken after the bombs dropped. Its, temperate, harsh climate became to much for his mother and father to live in when their second child was born, so they moved north a few dozen miles to Alaska, and eventually made their way into Whittier.

It was good spending his early years there, from age ten to early advlthood. He was fairly unknown around the town as more than a commoner who kept to his family for the mot part, until his father became bedridden. He was sick, with some form of cancer. At the time, Wesley was eighteen, and his little brother eight; too young to understand what was wrong with his father, or the possibility of losing him. Their mother, six years his father's younger at forty-nine, withdrew from her council secretary position to take care of him, putting the responsibility of house income on Wesley. He soon got himself little jobs bar tending or running errands, all the while beginning his study in medicine in an attempt to find some way to help his father. He made it known that he was the guy to come to about stitching and curing illnesses, but nothing major occurred as it was a fairly peaceful place.

At 23 he opened up his clinic, and also began his side research delving into some very minor herbalism. He even had enough free time and supplementary income to go out on minor explorations looking for specific plants and miscellaneous equipment. It wasn't until he was Nearing the end of 26 that the first making of the war began to brew. Over the next two years things began to boil and brew until it was official that the tribals and the people of Whittier were in a small-scale war. He was among the first to be inducted into the militia, originally against his choice. It was the choice of the Elders, knowing that the former secretary had a sun of applicant age, and in desperate need of some type of defense. He reluctantly followed orders, learning how to shoot and how not to get shot.

It wasn't until the first raid that he understood the upright urgency of the problem, when he had to defined his family by taking other's lives, something he'd been fighting to do the opposite of for more than ten years. After that first raid he trained with more vigor and determination, excelling upon the recruits and fighting his way to Squad Leader, which he's been now for the last half-year.

Nashville (55) - Sniper

To earn some more money he started doing some side work as a mercenary with three of the men from his scavenging team, the group took on small contracts on the days they weren’t out scavenging.

When Gavin turned 18 he joined the Whittier Militia so he could protect the town, every now and then he’d be called up by his Group Leader to go out and shoot some tribals or stop some raiders. After years of service and hard work he was promoted to Group Leader, he convinced the rest of his mercenary squad to join the Militia so they could be his Grunts and he picked two people that happened to be twins that he knew from training to fill the rest of his Groups spots. Inextricable
Spoiler
Name: Harry Patton
Age: 30
Race: Caucasian
Gender: Male
Height: 6’4’’
Weight: 225

Hair Style: Long-ish (about mid-neck length) and slicked back, though in an unkempt manner. Think of the ‘Blast Back’ style in FO3 and NV.
Facial Hair: A scraggily goatee
Hair Color: Auburn
Eye Color: Green
Skin Color: Light-skinned. Typically, he doesn’t tan well.
Body Tone: Well-built and fairly muscular. His shoulders are wide and his overall stature is imposing.
Appearance: Although by no means a lady killer, Harry facial appearance is one of a rugged handsomeness, as shown in his strong jaw and defined cheekbones. Largely as a result of a rough childhood and adolescence, Harry’s nose is crooked and has clearly been broken several times. Harry’s eyes are more like narrow slits, conveying his focus and grit. A faint scar from a wolf ambush marks his left cheek.

Armor/Clothes: In combat, Harry proudly dons his great-grandfather’s winterized combat armour; it’s a little worn with age, but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper maintaining it than buying a new full set.

Harry’s typical street attire: Thick green wooly jumper (often with sleeves rolled up), white t-shirt, charcoal cargo pants, black hiking books, fingerless gloves and an old lumberjack hat.

Weapons: In combat, (therefore on the offensive): Mossberg 500 combat shotgun, 9mm pistol, combat knife. Is apprehensive about using ‘nades.
When out about town or on a job (usually as some form of security in a saloon or store), a riot shotgun. Harry finds its defensive capabilities useful for crowd control.

Gear: Stimpak, water canteen, Rad-Away, pocket knife, whistle, and a snack, if he can find one.

Job(s): Harry used to work as a guard for his father’s small caravan company, but due to the ongoing hostilities and the adverse effect they’ve had on the caravan, that’s not a lucrative line of work. More recently, Harry has been advertising himself as a freelance security guard, his employers mostly being shop owners and saloon proprietors; the former paying him to watch their place overnight, the latter compensating him for keeping the rowdy folk in line and stopping their establishment from being burned down.

Personality/Bio: A descendent of Cpt. Andrew D. Patton, an officer who served valiantly in the Sino-American War and particularly the Anchorage Reclamation. Cpt. Patton remained stationed at Anchorage after the repelling of Chinese forces and fled to Whittier in the aftermath of the Great War, where he played a role in helping to build the community.

The Patton family has been settled in Whittier since the Great War, and has always been willing in offering its hand to the community – officiously so, at times. The Pattons are a proud and strong family, their bonds rarely broken. They are characterised by their tenacity, diligence and fervency in spirit – Harry is no exception. Like his father Danny (and his mother before she died of natural causes), Harry loves his town and sees it as a shining example for all thriving settlements. Indeed, any potential opposition to the peace Harry would wish to see thwarted and destroyed through any means – such jingoism is shared by his father and, to a lesser extent, younger brother, Hutch.

From a young age, Harry was encouraged to be competitive and, occasionally, violent in his father’s effort to prepare him for the unforgiving world outside. He often brawled with his brother and got in fights with others, even if they were, for the most part, innocuous little scuffles. Many wilderness and hunting trips meant Harry was well-learned in the art of survival and resource-gathering; he always enjoyed the seemingly tranquil milieu the wilderness provided, so when the influx of hostile tribal communities disturbed that peace, he became increasingly acrimonious about their being.

Although Harry’s father was always bitter about not being elected to sit on the Council of Four in spite of his services, he continued to serve Whittier proudly by running a successful caravan company, which generated a stable local economy and traded valuable goods efficaciously with all friendly settlements in the vicinity. When the caravan was basically put out of business by the aggression of the local tribes, the town slowly became drained of supplies and it became clear to Harry that they’d have to fight a total war against the barbarians. He readily joined the militia and was appointed a Squad Leader on the merits of his martial ability and all-around dedication to the cause. His amiable yet firm demeanor made him popular with his subordinates, whereas his superiors respected the industrious nature of his work ethic.

Other:
- a womanizer. Has found it difficult to establish a stable relationship, despite his virtues. Often gives in to temptation.

- Loves his Alaskan husky Rosie, who he found alone in the wilderness and named after his deceased mother.

Weight: 163

Hair Style: Long
Facial Hair: Non existant.
Hair Color: Crimson dyed.
Eye Color: Deep green.
Skin Color: Usually pale, some areas might have minor dirt.
Body Tone: Slender
Appearance: sixy and I know it. You was just asking for that.

Armor/Clothes: On a normal occassion, you'll find her in typical cut up the leg blue jeans which have this white stain like detail on the knees. Wears black tights below it for the cuts above of the knee. On top, is a plain t-shirt colored in black and white stripes, on top of that is a small jacket like deal made of leather. For cold situations, she has a similar leather jacket in which she has killed and skinned various coyotes and other mammals with beautiful furs and fitted around the collar and wrists, as well as on the bottom of the leather jacket. As for hostile situations, she wares typical leather armor with one acception, along it has minor reinforced spikes on the shoulders. Just in case a hand to hand confrentation. With the leather armor, she might ware something minor to cover her head via headphones for her ears as well as to keep frostbite from getting at them. Helps with the noise too, she supposes.

Weapons: Signature Sniper Rifle; Nicknamed Sharp, it has a silencer as well as extended mags.Has on the handle the small engravement of 'AIW' standed for her nickname; Alice in Wonderland. Sharpened Combat Knife for close range hand-to-hand battles, a 10mm pistol, and one light machine gun.

Pending through her mood. Highly social, as long as you don't mind boysterous behavior. Apart from being highly social, she typically dodges questions about herself, prefers to know about others. She also shows a well formed intellegence, though she doesn't really express it unless in a combat situation. Though, when she is in a combat production, she is a completely one hundered precent different type of woman. Level-headed, thinking things through, consiquences and often oh so often forms minor simulations of plans in her mind running it over and over until it eventually is stuck there as a battle plan. Then, she progresses onward to training and nuriching that plan, fixing problems, and eventually develuping it and praticing it in a training grounds. Think it through even more, and then *maybe* use it, not in a full fledged combat situation, but a prehaps training run? Nether the less, she gets it done. In battle, caution around every corner, keeps her eye on her men, etc etc.

Personality/Bio:

Jonas grew up in a small town called Cullison, located smack-dab in the middle of Kansas. It was small, friendly, and through trade was very prosperous. But it wasn't without hardship, local clans of bandits, mostly cannibalistic, lived in the Hutchinson Salt Mines, only a short journey to Cullison. Jonas grew up learning about nothing but survival, and [censored]-loads of shooting. He was taught that the gun was to become an extension of his body. So it did, and more than a few bandits got a dose of fast-acting lead-poisoning from it.

After he turned 18, with 3 years of experience in guarding caravans, and a life of survival under his belt, he set off into the wide wasteland of the United States. He met many people, got into more than one hairy situation, and eventually found himself in a seriously FUBAR situation. It started when he found an old map, and decided to set off northbound into Canada, hoping to find some sort of lost piece of the past maybe. As he ventured further Northwest, he came upon a small town in the middle of Nowhere, Alaska.

Jonas is tough, but not stone-cold. He has compassion and empathy, and would die for a cause worth dying for. His social skills are just fine and he generally likes people, but he's lived a bit of a secluded life, giving him a bit of an overly paranoid outlook, as if everyone was a possibility for betrayal. Something he knew well.

Facial Hair: Goatee
Hair Color: Black

Gear: Canteen, Caribou Jerky, Rad-away, Rad-X, Stimpak, Sunglasses, Lighter, Pack of Cigarettes
Job(s): Scavenger

Personality/Bio:

Malcolm was born in the town of Lancashire to two settlers who were trying to escape the fighting between the organized towns and the tribals. Life was rough and was no place for a child to grow up. His parents provided as best they could as scavengers but many nights they went hungry. Other families in the settlement often took pity on him providing Malcolm with leftovers, and when they could warm clothes. Malcolm grew up despising his parents for allowing him to become a charity case and hating his life in the isolated town.

His father died near his thirteenth birthday leaving his family in a good deal of debt on account of his gambling problem. His mother was forced to abandon the family scavenging operation and take on three jobs to survive. Malcolm was also forced to get work in order to pay off his deadbeat father's gambling debts.

Five years of toiling later Malcolm and his mother managed to pay off the last of the outstanding balance. Now no longer having a reason to stay Malcolm left home seeking a fresh start somewhere else. For a year and a half he wandered the land selling the bits of refuge he found during scavenging runs to keep himself afloat. Although he visited many towns over the course of his travels he routinely returned to a town called Whittier where he felt at home. Eventually he decided to cease his aimless wandering and make Whittier his home.

Sappers/Engineers are the guys, as Athell said, who build things like bridges, airstrips, and lay minefields, etc. They're basically the ones who you hear little about, but actually play a big roll in plans that involve traps, etc.

Also, I think it'd be better if you were a body guard for someone else. Not to drag you down or anything, but being a simple Group Leader, is more or less just a simple squad leader in normal terms, and it's not a big recognition. You could (and this is just a suggestion) body guard the town's general store or something like that? The Mayor and Council of Four, would really just be guarded by the entirety of the Whittier Militia, or certain chosen Group/Section from the militia.

I have to say, the Idea sounds really solid. I would really like to sign-up, and I only have a commitment to one other RP as of now. (Once my WW game in Community Discussion is done, that is)

Are you only accepting a certain amount of members like last time, or is everyone who applies in so long as you approve?

Anyone who applies is in, as long as I okay it first, and/or they make they make the right edits and I okay it then, but really anyone who applies is in.

snip

You might want to make some edits in your bio. There is no kingdom, lords, or anything like that. It's just a town about to be under attack by tribals.

And also, since I haven't seen your stuff before on here, I want to make sure you're clear on the rules, and also if you haven't, to check out at the top of the FF forum, "So You think You can RP?" thread. It'll help you out a lot.

I'll have my own CS up in a bit, and then start saying for sure who's in. Which is, as I said above, anyone who applies.

In some RP's on the Elder Scrolls side, so I probs won't be able to join now, but later is always a possibility. Because your going to play two leaders, yo might want to find someone to Co-GM for more smoothness, and just to help you out overall. Also, this could be an Ro that you can disect into missions, rather then have is as one long RP, each thread could be one mission, and people can allegedly drop in and out, and depending on how much you'll be able to contribute, or how frequesntly you leave, you could either be a commander or a "private" so to speak.

Well playing the opposing leader, is just during times of battle, and I mean actually battle, not breaks between battles that are even on the battlefield. And most of those posts will just be describing the moves of the enemy in a bit more detail, than it otherwise would be in war RP's that the other side is NPC. So basically it's just to describe how the enemy is countering or attacking the player's positions and movements.

And actually, with the threads, that's what I was thinking too, about the missions taking up a thread or two (depending on how it goes with posts). I figured these missions wouldn't be so go-here-take-care-of-this-win-or-lose-and-the-battle's-over type of thing, in just 5 or 6 posts. They would actually take some time to conquer and try to get the upper hand or something like that. The missions could even take a couple of days or so (in game time), for whatever reason I might come up with. And those who leave or dropout in some way, would have it so in the end of the battle, or when the battles cooled down some, I could say their unit was just completely knocked out by enemy fire, etc., so they're all dead now. Things like that. Like I said, this whole concept is supposed to give the impression of a larger and realer war. That includes some of the tediousness that comes along with war, when you're just sitting around waiting for something to happen.

Also, am I accepted, Strangelove?

Yes, you and everyone else who's applied, are accepted.

Also, I think I'll wait for one or two more people to post a CS, if there is one or two more people interested that can join and post a CS. If not, then tomorrow we'll get started with the actual RP, and this will become the first OOC thread. Any Out Of Character posts, will go here or PM'd to me. You know the drill.

Height: 6"
Weight:190lb
Hair Style: No Hair
Facial Hair: Beard w/ Goatee
Eye Color: Gray/Brown
Skin Color: Chocolate
Body Tone: Slightly imposing stature, about 75% muscle; stocky but slimmer than most his height

Appearance: Wesley is the average man's man. He just recently entered what the wasteland registers as his mid-life mark (judging as most nowadays don't live long past sixty), and it's apparent. A scar on his left leg from when he fell down a cliff-side and broke his shin on a jagged rock. He also has brown/gray eyes due to his French heritage, which are beginning to fade in hue, and can speak some French.

Armor/Clothes:
- Black Military Boots
- Tucked cargo black fatigue pants
- Long-sleeved Spandex black shirt

- Pack of Cigarettes
- InstaMash

One of all these things are in different pockets on his armor, the other is in a separate pack he keeps on his waist
- RadAway

Squad:
Nashville (55) - Sniper
Bubba Scott(25) - Support
Sebastian Cook(20) - Scout
Jared O'Connor(28) - BOOM Man (not sapper, strictly demolitions)
Green-Eagle "Birdie"(26) Rifleman

Hello! After lurking here for a while, I've been looking for a RP to join. This one I find particularly interesting and would like to sign up, if you're still accepting new characters. I'll be honest, I've never had any direct experience roleplaying on a forum but I've read that guide pinned at the top of the page and I think I've got a reasonably sound idea of what to do.

I'm drafting one of those character sheets, so if you're not accepting any new members now, I'll be ready to join at a later date.

Thanks! :)

Yeah, I'm still accepting CS's. If you have it ready to go, just go ahead and post it so I can okay or tell you where you might want to edit. But go ahead and post it.

Can we start now?

When I post the actual IC (In Character) Thread, then we'll start. I've just got to finish up on the opening post, and then you can start posting.

EDIT: Also, just to be clear to everyone, all of you who've posted a CS are accepted.

Awesome, just one question: Would it be possible to have the father of my character working for the council? He wouldn't be on the Council of Four (I'd imagine that'd give me too much power); maybe an advisor or something to that effect? Someone with just a little bit of influence, y'know? I know you said you'd review the sheet and ask me to edit if necessary, but I'd like to get this cleared up now so I'm not changing everything later. :)

Again, I'm new to this, so expect questions here and there.

Well the Council of Four really acts, as an example, a neighborhood/small town council does, but with a more governmental twist to them, seeing how they also advise the Mayor and get involved with outside issues as well with the Mayor. They're already people who've been selected from the community who are put into the position to listen to the towns problems, and try to handle them this way or that. Advising the council would be just be repetitive to their job description, seeing how their job is already getting together with the community at times, and being advised that way, on town issues.

You could have it so your character's father owns the local caravan hub/station, and through that business, deals with the Council of Four that way? Just remember that since Whittier's been left to defend itself, the town hasn't had a lot of caravans coming in or out of the place. Little to none, I'd say.

That's actually a pretty nice idea! I'll go with something along those lines.

Cheers for clearing that up.
