a very short but very beautiful quest. Something you are not used to see

Yes!
And that reminds me of the small quest that starts in Gnisis, and you reunite an Argonian brother/sister who have escaped from their slavery. Damn, I can't remember what it's called.
Very cool little mod though.

edit: Found it... http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3816
OK, it's more popular than I remembered, but still worth a mention here.

Geonox's http://geonox.silgrad.com/download.htm. Excellent mods, yet sometimes forgotten.

http://bravo1.perceptualmotion.co.uk/mods/volorith.html. When I play Telvanni, I prefer to simply become a Master of the House, rather than become Archmagister. Tel Volorith gives you a choice of locations between Uvirith and Volorith, which is a Telvanni tower out on an island off Azura's Coast, near Holamayan. The location is far superior, and you get a huge Dwemer telescope along with the Telvanni architecture. Still, with the release of Building Up Uvirith's Legacy, it'll be a tough choice.

Forget about the shield, lol! The armor is from a mod which you could see linked as "Related Mod" on the Forgotten Shields page (though not forgotten, nor underdog): http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6768...

However, as tronvillan half-truly stated, the original mesh comes from http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5894, by far one of the most beautiful and under-appreciated mods ever released for Morrowind (along with Hedgehog's all other replacers, especially Indoril, Glass and Orcish, my personal faves). They all belong to the PES HoF, but instead they get stupid comments from people who should not download them in the first place... :sigh:

Cheers,
PKR.

An old classic Guild/Quest mod.
Probably forgotten by many nowadays. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=127

One of the first mods I downloaded. Another one that I enjoyed at the time was http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=getit&lid=536. Unfortunately, I believe it has landmass conflicts with Firemoth plugins. Still worth a runthrough just for some possible frustration and humor.

I whole heartedly agree with this statement. HH12 has his heart in these armors. He demands respect.

I agree as well, while I only use his Telvanni, Bonemold, and Indoril replacers, I really admire his work on them.

...Oh crap! This is my thread! I've been neglecting updating that list, but I'm going to have to do it sometime, guess I'll do it now, I haven't modded all day, so I gotta get something in. (I don't find satisfaction in my life if I don't keep creating things/helping people out etc.).

Well, since you said it first :P

New addition:
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7856 With an important http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7881 to work out some bugs.

This stuff is really nice and underrated. The fix is needed to avoid missing mesh/textures (install both, use the Fixed ESP only)
Great stuff.

Three pages of underdog mods and no-one has mentioned http://www.tarazaurus.com/zone.htm yet?
Have a click! - the site is a bit...well...arty. So in order to see the screenshots, click on the roman numerals below the word "screenshots".
Not much of a storyline: but the eyecandy is stunning!

Don't know if it counts as forgotten but definately an underdog. :) Also a shameless self plug. But having seen a lot of requests for more dungeons to play I'd have thought it would have had more DLs.

I have to say, I think mods that make it into one of the major and well-used modlists can't exactly be described as underdog mods - they're not forgotten because those lists are still big resources. I'm mainly referring to Tele's and Empirical Morrowind, many of these mods are there. That doesn't lessen their impact but they maybe aren't as forgotten as the ones we should be showcasing here.

Something that was never quite perfect, but doesn't deserve to be forgotten: http://web.archive.org/web/20060322201927/archives.ravensky.org/2006/01/16/regarding_morrowind_online/index.html

Oh, and just re: ElricM: shame about what's happened. His Now Playing images (radiohead In Rainbows and the play/buy links) *have* been infected, and have the potential to send things to a Russian malware site. Google Chrome can tell you exactly what's going on. The good news is that it's almost certainly not malicious in its current form and the files themselves will be clean.

I think most of the choices here are mods that don't seem to have very much activity on PES, ie. no one has voted or commented on the mod in a long time, or it has few downloads despite being good. Others are mods that no one ever seems to mention, despite being worth a mention.
The lists you mention are quite large, and therefore its easy for some mods to get missed among the more popular ones.
Besides, it's just a thread to point out some old (or new) favourites.

What would you like to see on the list? Make a suggestion :)

Well, I did, but here's another one :frog:

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2231 - Not many people still need to get rid of the particle emitters, but this mod adds some really nice atmospheric touches to the various strongholds and their chambers.

Now here's a little beauty that doesn't get any deserved attention.

Compliments Connary's work well, but looks good with anything. Best thatch out there, imo.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3392 amazing that a mod as small as this, that makes such a dramatic change in-game, rarely gets any love.

And I definitely agree about "The Zone". That thing is a beautiful piece of work, and most folks have never heard of it. Yes, I'm aware of why that is, but I still think it deserves more recognition.

I recently installed Midegtalien's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7830 and I am loving it. The script and effects run very smooth.
I am so surprised at how few downloads it has that I felt I needed to mention it here.
We all have MGE, so there's no excuse not to check it out. :P

Yeah, I know, it's my own house mod, but I will plug it every chance I get. I put a lot of work into this thing and I'm somewhat proud of it :hehe:

http://forums.starfoxweb.com/index.php?topic=1048.0

You must register. It's safe and clean and free. I think it's still up at ElricM, but I won't link it, in fact my Avast won't even let me on there to snag the url.

I think people see the title and screens and figure it's just a little shack home. But it's more. I promise. Just make sure you read everything you find, and you'll be alright.

I have something to add here:

Piratelord's http://www.pirates.retreat.btinternet.co.uk/Vivec.htm.

It's basically how Bethesda http://www.elderscrolls.com/images/world/mw_02WB.jpg except that, with the power of computers at the time, it would have pretty much murdered one. A computer these days can handle it pretty well, even though it can still be a bit of a strain with MGE. But the result is http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/Tempestwrath2/MGEScreenshot32.jpg.

Nevermind the weird trees in that shot. I've yet to find an Ascadian Isles tree replacer that uses billboards and plays nice with Distant Land. Vality's Bitter Coast trees do. His Ascadian Isles ones do not.

Jeremy's http://jw_mcguinn.rethan-manor.net/page1.htm series. One of the first to offer small quests with newly textured armor--and what textures! Beautiful stuff. For those who don't want to deal with the quest challenges, you can always buy the sets from the Breton Knight Armor Shop, part of the Balmora Expansion. But for years we didn't have the expansion, so you either used the console, the CS, or fought for those pieces of armor. And each was truly worth it.
