Formidable Assassins

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:18 am

How is it a paradox for people outside the game, to know who the best assassins in-game are? We are not the general populace of Tamriel. True, you're not going to find many texts associated with it listing names, but still, come on....

Best Assassins? Look to the east, to Morrowind. However this IS a point of conjecture that can be stated to have some conflict with OB as the Morag Tong and the Dark brotherhood HATE each other. Like, hate-hate. Like, think of every religious order in our history that has hated each other, and how bloody it has been. That level of hate. Not to mention these are both organizations that employ folks who kill others like they were killing a fly.

Try looking up some folks who were in Daggerfall maybe?

That's one of the keys to Elder Scrolls lore... we often are treated like the general population, privvy to the same ignorance, lies, and bias.

The Shadowscales of Argonia are probably impressive: born into their profession by their sign.

Don't forget Fedris Hler. He ended up the leader of the Hands of Almalexia, some of the most powerful mortal warriors in Tamriel.

I think Almalexia is the leader of the Hands of Almalexia. Fedris Hler was another servant, a enigmatic one though. It's the name, Hler, that makes the player wonder who sent the assassin in the place. Of course, we all know it was Helseth and that he's really evil and bad. :P

I don't recall Hler being associated with the Lady's guards though...

In Mournhold, it is said that he's the leader of the Hands. Well, technically, Almalexia is the head, but I imagine that he's like the leader of the Secret Service. There are rumors in-game that he was once an assassin.

The Ienith brothers. They're also a target in a Thieves Guild quest.

Yes. He's a Temple Agent, but an assassin by "class". He's interesting in the fact that in a city controlled by a legion of High Ordinators, and Royal Guards, assassins are present.
