It's been confirmed, Skyrim will feature far more diverse environments than Oblivion, including some incredibly beautiful forests. :)

Each area has its own type of climate. It's only snowy all the time in the northern have of Skyrim. And there are pines trees just about everywhere.

This has to be a joke? The trailer shows two distinct forests. One was lush green which is the Pine forest. The other is the Fall forest which looks like a forest during Autumn.

Which is interesting, since in Oblivion the northern part of Cyrodiil (which is closest to Skyrim) was almost all snow. Even in the lower elevation areas.

There is. There's a bunch of different areas- snow is just the most prominent.

Yea because northern Cyrodiil, which is closest to southern Skyrim, is almost all snow. But its been said that it's only all snow in northern Skyrim.

There is much more grass and beautiful trees than you think in the gameplay trailer.
It's on Bethesda's YouTube channel if you missed it.

I'm just going by what the developers said. When they say it's always snowy up there I think there’re actually saying it’s ALWAYS snowy up there. Meaning it never gets hot enough to melt. So the other parts only have snow during winter. Plus the northern parts of Cyrodiil are supposed to be a high mountain range so there just snow capped mountains. Not that it doesn't get cold in that area.

Not really. The lower edge of Bruma was directly on the limit of the snow and that was pretty high up in the hills already. Plus, of course, the representation of the worlds in the games isn't always ideal, Bruma would be much higher up if it was to scale. From the looks of the pictures, most areas have at least some snow. Whiterun is in a big sunny field in the concept art, but still has large clumps of snow.

Yikes, didn't think I'd get jumped on like that. I wasn't disagreeing with you that there will be forests... since, obviously, there will be. I was just thinking about the area around Bruma, each region of Cyrodiil seemed to give "hints" about the characteristics of the bordering lands. Based on Northern Cyrodiil, one might assume that all of Skyrim is just as cold and snow-filled. (For the record, I'm glad it's not)

Sick mod. I can only assume that this thread is strictly promotional toward those mods in the video.

I'm all for diverse environments but I hope it's not over done. Skyrim is supposed to be a cold tundra-like place for the most part. You don't gain a natural resistance to magical frost by living in a kind-of-tundra environment. In Oblivion, the various environments made sense because Cyrodil is in the center of everything. In Skyrim I would expect to see tundra, taiga, deciduous and alpine environments.

Snow comes and goes in Skyrim, expect to see a lot of greenery during the summer months and in general when it doesn't snow.
