Divine influence? Hardly. It was Jauffre saying "You must go to Kvatch RIGHT NOW. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. The heir in terrible danger despite the fact absolutely nothing will happen if you never, ever set foot there and go off to chase butterflies in the next few months. So I wouldn't really ascribe the flimsy plot to divine intervention unless you want to discredit the Nine Divines.
