Between 2-5 PM tomorrow, the forums will be closed so that we can change the coding to UTF8. We're hoping that this will help with the problems that have been brought up re: long posts getting errors -- a common error particularly in our fan fiction boards.

So we're done. You probably won't notice major changes, but the coding is now UTF8, which should help with the issues I mentioned yesterday.

You might notice some weird characters here and there -- like ?'s replacing apostrophes. This happens in cases where you've copied text from Word into the a forum post. We'll work on a script to replace as many of those issues as possible, but going forward, copying text from applications like MS Word should be much more user friendly.

No, the movie hasn't started yet. There's still plenty of time left to buy some popcorn.

Meh. 90% of the stuff wasn't relevant to me anyway, and my country's largest political party didn't even get representation. Works in a 2-party American system, but not in the UK. Yet for some reason I still have all the anolysis and crap on :/

Added to which, has the forum work corrupted the letter recognition? Suddenly Undone's location has question marks, making it look like he's from a place called Dun Dan, but he's not entirely sure.

It would be pretty silly to take the forums down for a few days to do a massive overhaul and not put in new game section if they were planning to do it in a few weeks time. TES IV got a forum here about a month before it was announced because that's when we did the last large overhaul. :)
