it used to be that text size was really the only thing that increased or decreased so you could make the font quite large without breaking the page.

That's still how it is for me?

8 pages of commnets so I don't know if this has been covered yet, but code tags are now colorized, and that makes it extremely hard to read them in the mods forum where load orders routinely have them.

Yeah but if you zoom in more than a little the entire thing expands and pushes off the side of the page - it used to be that text size was really the only thing that increased or decreased so you could make the font quite large without breaking the page.

Aah, I only zoomed in a few clicks to see if it worked. Saying that, with the http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b351/thewayofthe_wonderer/fff.jpg I can zoom RIGHT in.

If I'm not mistaken the IP board uses a fluid layout. The margins, width and size of other elements are defined in percentages of your browser window. As a result the layout scales nicely when you zoom in. Sometimes the maximum width is also fixed to prevent over-stretching on wide screen monitors. They're harder to write but definitely worth it.

I want to know what happened to my posts. Before I had 1700 posts. Now it claims I have 78. Proof that this is wrong? My rank is Disciple. No way I can have that at 78 posts. I had a ton more posts that got "eaten" after the change.

Yeah, I can understand people not liking the new look - there are always lots of people who don't like the new look when they update the forums, but in my personal opinion the new features make it worthwhile.

It's software! Keep the features, fix the look.

The member field in posts looks a little ridiculous. Other than that it's not too bad.

I'm not sure how many forum updates I've been through here, but I remember adjusting to each soon enough.

Odd how an old Facebook pic was on my profile when I logged in.

[edit]

img tags are still disabled. Oh well...

So I used the search and ....well I don't notice any difference.

I especially love the way the pulldown next to the search overlaps the "Bethesda Softworks - Forums - Members" box that mysteriously floats in space above the forum page myself.

That, and the way running my mouse over the page makes it shimmer like heat mirage as it shifts. :P
Aha- mousing over any of: Report, Edit, Reply, MultiQuote seems to make the post widen a bit...

Oh, and let's not forget the hideous backgrounds around the emoticons. :D

Still acts like the old one in that when I click "Edit" to edit a post, the post opens in the editor then instantly closes again and I have to start over hitting "Edit" for it to actually stay open long enough that I can actually edit anything.

And the black boxes around user info and quoted material staying in the foreground over the title bar at the top with access to the search is nifty too...

Wait? What popout? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot. :P When I go to my profile it only lists a little above 70. Aha, I see. Nevermind. Thanks. :)

I like the box around member infrormation, but the little backgrounds on some of the emoticons are horrible. :glare:

Other than that, works fine. And loads faster than it used to. I'm not used to it yet, so I feel out of sorts, but I'm pretty sure it'll work out. :P

Next to your username in all the posts you make, there is a little button that brings out a small menu, listing post count and various other details.
I don't know where you got the profile count from, I can't see post count there at all; only profile views.

I feel like theres way too many topics per page. I also feel like the stickied stuff and the important stuff is getting lost as its not divided from the other stuff. Its also lagging severely.

Bottom of the forum you can change the skin to IPBoard. It's fast.

Topics / page settings are in your profile IIRC.

Nah, you can still clearly see it on the page, even if it's a bit tricky to read. 333333 was as good as invisible on the old skin.

On the bottom of each forum you can switch to the default IP Board skin. Doesn't have so many transparent layers so it renders allot faster.

Actually after a bit more browsing around and posting, graphic updating of the pages is quicker with IP Board (though harsher on the eyes with the bright white background), but the old "waiting for static.zenimax.com" and the refresh ending still takes an age.

Edit: For instance after clicking add reply for this post, the page refresh took 8 seconds.

Upper left, next to the messenger envelope, there's the nofications drop down. What's the difference between that and the message number next to it?

I have switched from that because even on cable broadband the new themes are really slow, IP Board was a suggestion to make that quicker.
