Wow I barely noticed that was a link, this just gets worse and worse.

I've disliked the mechanics of the forums since the first major overhaul. I get slow, stuttery scrolling on almost any browser I use. I greatly prefer the old beige forum color - so much easier on the eyes and worked so much better.

I liked the mechanics of the first major overhaul, having to actually log in was a bit odd at first but certainly worth getting used to and there were plenty of great new options. The purple and white color scheme was atrocious though - Freddo and I disagree on this point an apparently it looked much better on some monitors than others but for me it was just awful. Thankfully the next time they had a big upgrade they added the ability to choose between a selection of skins.

It's nice to see that option come back even in a limited form with this latest upgrade, hopefully we'll see it expanded.

Although something tells me you were actually referring to the last major overhaul rather than the first that the forums saw ;)

I'm not a big fan of how chunky everything looks now since the update, and the notifications down the side telling you that there have been new posts in a thread don't stand out enough.

Is anything weird happening in anyone else's browser when viewing http://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/img/clean/logo.png in a separate tab?

Nothing weird here.

Am I the only one who has problems with the PM messaging module (the pop up for new PMs)?

I get dumped from the forum with nearly every PM I send which is the first in a conversation (so not with replies.)

It's me, isn't it? I'm just disfunctional :sadvaultboy:

edit:
Whoever changed the old smiley for this: :D , should have there head soaked in batter... :flame:

:D <--this, a scared monkey smiley it is not. :stare:

For people with progressive smiley disorder, things like this are intolerable. :shakehead:

Not too fond of the new theme - gimmicky things like the Facebook button and the unpadded quick reply box just bleed lack of professionalism. I assume this is still a WIP, but I think that the forum looked perfect the way it was, more unique and modernized than the old silver skin but not totally messy.

With some tweaks I'm sure it could be saved, though. I like the new poll formatting and the boxes that user information is nested in.

Strange. After the picture loads in a separate tab for me, I get this:

(colour coding ftw btw) repeatedly loading, i.e. first that string appears only once after the image, after a second or two another one appears after the last one, then another one, then another one, etc. After a while it looks like http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/3382/wtfzg.png.

Hmmmm...

The first time I signed in, I was shocked and appalled... but it only took a few minutes to get used to the new layout, as opposed to the days upon days it took to get used to the last one.

Pros:
-The floating bar at the top of the page is much better now.
-The post form looks better.
-Profiles look much better and my list of friends isn't glitchy for the first time in... forever.
-You can change the skin, but I.P. Board is waaaaaaay too bland for me. Will we be getting new skins in the future?
-"Search titles only" in advanced search actually works! :cold: THANK YOU SO MUCH *sniff*

Cons:
- It took me a few seconds to realize I was actually on the first page of the forum, because I didn't see the pinned topics section anywhere. It's really annoying. Please separate them from normal topics like they were last time...
-Post count isn't viewable immediately in the profile and you have to click that little square again.
-It feels weird that the username in a post isn't in the black box the avatar is in.

Overall I'm not in love with it but it isn't too bad either.

You forgot this giant pro:

#include int main(){    while(true) cout << "YAY!!!\n";    return 0;}

Didn't notice that until you pointed it out and unleashed my OCD. Nooo!

Bug: polls sometimes have http://www.gamesas.com/images/smilie/t_poll_unread.png instead of http://www.gamesas.com/images/smilie/t_poll_read.png even though there are no new posts in them. (I noticed that for this very poll in the community discussion section.)

I can't see the exact percentage of my warn level like I could with the last layout. So instead of a red bar and a number above it that says 0%, it just shows the red bar. Not that it really matters though, but it is kind of odd.

Also, the "This post has been edited by..." notification in posts is no longer as nice and discreet like the last one was. Now it's a big black bar that stands out so much it might as well be saying "HEY GUYS THIS POST WAS EDITED WHAT DO YOU THINK HE IS HIDING HMMM?," which, for someone such as myself who almost always edits his post at some point, is a little annoying.

I noticed that the numbers showing the number of "topics" and "replies" a forum has look out of focus and blurry. The fact that they're gray instead of white doesn't help matters.

It means http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syntax_highlighting.

Oh, well that's nice then. :P

This. Seems like all we ever do is mod the stuff they make. Games, forums, what's next? Do I want to know?

Probably n-[Notice from Bethesda: you are hereby unable to post until modding your own editing software into place.]

I'm finding it quite difficult to tell at a glance what topics have new replies. That's kinda important...

That "view topic preview" button that appears. it says I don't have permission to do that action.

'sup with that?

Nevermind. I just had to refresh the page.

I don't mind it, it has been an easier transition compared to the last update that took place. That being said...

You just have to re-upload them. Now it's straight from your computer instead of using a photo hosting website.
