Forums are for complainers.

No matter how good a game is, people will find a way to tear it apart and they will use the forums to do it. The reality is that people who enjoy things and who have a better outlook on life seldom visit internet forums.

He actually has a decent point. You'll never find more whining and complaining about something than on an internet forum dedicated to it.

I think it's funny how you think you have a better outlook on life because you don't criticize things as much. But yes, in general, when things are good, people tend to go do those good things, as opposed to talking about them. Things generally need to be exceptionally good for people to praise them, and even then, discussions about how good something is can only go so deep. Whereas people are much more likely to talk about something if it's only slightly bad, and there's generally more to talk about.

And please excuse me if I sound like an arrogant [censored] -- I just get annoyed when people try to make me sound like a bad person because I come to forums about a game to talk about ways I wish the game had been better. It's great that you think Skyrim is a great game. Some people don't have as much fun playing it. We come here to talk about it. Instead of making unconstructive posts about how you like the game, just go play it.

How does an outlook on life relate to forum visits? Do you actually know what you're talking about or just trying to sound... whatever it is you're trying to sound. From what you're saying you suggests that people that visits forum is some kind of manic depressive. How about those that visits the forum trying to find and discuss about the game that they pay good money for and enjoy with other gamers that find it enjoyable too? Don't talk about what "reality" is when you haven't a clue about what you're talking about.

On a side note... where's the I was going to complaint but then I took an a....

Artwork is always subjective my friend. There are people who absolutely hate Picasso and an equal number of people who think his work was godly, same with Mozart, same with the Beatles, Elvis, games, sports, etc. The point I was trying to make is that the people who dislike things are often the most outspoken, while the people who appreciate the fine art or have the ability to see it for what it is are much less vocal. I don't necessarily like Beethoven, but I do appreciate some of his work from an artisic standpoint and the grounds of originality and how it painted the way for future muscians. But, even if I don't agree with the motif, I can still appreciate fine art when I see it.

Definitely smells like a troll, but i'll bite.... A lot of people on these forums such as myself are actually TES fans, but when we see each successive game in the series pandering more and more to the mainstream and console player demographics, a lot of the quality has gotten lost along the way. A lot of us use these forums as a tool to voice our feedback on where the game can be improved. Skyrim DOES have some very good qualities to it, but also has a lot of issues with it as well. If gamesas is to be believed that they read the forums and listen to what is posted, its a good way for them to see that not all of us wear Skyrim knee-pads.

If you're bored then maybe thats a symptom of a larger problem? Maybe try and find a job? Go to school? Do something other than sit on your butt complaining about artwork?

Cathalo, Cathalo, my dear Cathalo...

You just want attention, that's all. Happy to oblige my friend.

Look at your own phrase up there... Read it to yourself. Now, look at this one:

"Textbook definition of what oxymoron means".

Now, you're right, we Forum users are nothing but dung eaters who enjoy vomiting in each others mouths and washing ourselves with each other sweats, all while licking our own scabs and feces in a cespoll of negativity.

However...

You're the one that decided to join this Forum (an obscure feature in and of itself, regardless of being about a game, politics etc.) to tell how that very same Forum is for complainers.

Don't look now buddy-boy, but you're complaining yourself.

Okay? So can I. Half-Life 2 was fine art. Bioshock was fine art. Morrowind (or, to be fair, what I saw of it) was fine art. Oblivion, while entertaining in the long run, did not have the same polish that made games like HL2, Bioshock, or MW. Skyrim seems to be shaping up this way, too.

edit: So, sorry, I'm not completely sure what your point is/was.

This is all true, but I never claimed that I had a better outlook on life or that I was better than you in anyway. I was merely speaking from a neutral standpoint, from the outside looking in. I see myself for what I am and I have plenty of faults, as do we all.

All this story is kinda like football team fanatics where I live. People need to rant over every little thing, dressing of course most of the rants as well researched and objective, and potentially spoiling the experience of those who are not familiar with It.
My advice? Let It slip. No game goes through without this... Oblivion, FO:3 and FO:NV got SO MUCH [censored] HATE on release, and now people have come to like them (Even see those "Oblivion was awesome" threads now, being that game inferior to MW and Skyrim, IMHO). People will get tired, bugs will be fixed, several GOTYs will be earned and everything will be back to normal. Then TES VI will come out and It'll be the same story again.
