I've never had this happen before, but I am currently inside an oblivion gate somewhat north of Anvil and I found another oblivion gate inside the plane of oblivion. Has anyone else ever had this happen before? Haha, I didn't even know this was possible.

Are you sure you're not simply looking at the same gate you entered thru? What happens when you go thru the gate?

Yeah, this is most likely the one you came in through. If not, go in. Oblivion within Oblivion. . . If you're lucky it'll be a bright and colorful meadow with unicorns, and rainbows, and virgin Bosmers.

Yeah, I'm sure. When I enter it I go into a new map of oblivion with it's own tower. In the first oblivion world there are two gates, the one I came from and then the second one.

Several of the random Oblivion worlds have two different gates going into them. If you were to go through that gate, you'd be back in Cyrodiil, at the location of the other gate. It could be all the way on the other side of the country.

There is your answer. There is more than one gate per random world.

I have encountered this before and it can infact be used to travel around Cyrodiil. If you go through the gate within the gate you wil find yourself in another part of the world with a new gate on your map since it leads back out to Cyrodiil. They are closet seperately though so if you close one the other is still open.

Yeah, but as a shortcut it kind of svcks. "To get there faster, take a left turn at the Oblivion Gate, fight 30 spider daedra and couple of dozen Daedroths, then turn left and come out just south of Chorrol. Or you could just take the road and fight two bandits and 6 wild boars." Guess which one I'd choose if I had a lick of common sense? Of course, if I had a lick of common sense I wouldn't be the hero of this game, now would I?

There is a couple like them in the game. In my game there is one looking over Red Road which is the ring road. You go through it, find the other gate and you end up somewhere else. Far from where you went through form the other gate.
