Found a wee lil exploit..

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 6:11 am

So, I've been messing around with Elemental Fury (Shout) alot lately not only just dual-wielding, but sword+board. It's been working QUITE nicely especially with Quick Reflexes.. can dodge the hit.. hit them for 4 times instead of 2 with my sword and then Block again. :D

Anyway, getting to the point... I just so happen to have found a weapon (I always get, it's almost staple for me if I use Blades)... Valdr's Lucky Dagger. It has come to my attention that there's a definate glitch in the game that allows you to use VLD with Elemental Fury.

Though the exception is you can't use ANY enchanted weapons with the Shout. I just found an exception...

You're welcome! :D

I enchanted Wuuthrad and can still use shout, so you sure this is an exploit?

both of those sound like exploits. I haven't used that shout yet since I have had enchanted items equipped ever since I learned that shout.

They pretty much are. The game allows you to enchant Wuuthrad even though it's already enchanted. I think it's the only weapon that'll do that though. I know you can enchant the Headsmans Axe, but that has no enchants on it..

But this EF thing is peeking my curiosity lol. Really I found it out when I forgot I had the dagger out with my Sword. Then I saw the actual wind animation around the Dagger and not just my Ebony Sword.

And to top those, I have 2 points in the crit. hit thing for Swords in 1-Handed. Combine that with VLD... I can take Giants down in 2 power attacks, if not 1.

Depending on your smithing skills (basically the damage number you can achieve on your weapon) elemental fury can be way way more valuable than an enchant, or even 2 enchants. Not to mention as OP said that you can better strike and dodge blows.

Skyforge steel swords with fury can take you to endgame on master like a breeze.

As you may be able to tell from from my handle/name I do a bit of smithing. Actually, it's my central preoccupation in the game. It was the first skill I had at 100. Do skyforge steel swords swing faster normally?

No. They're just like I think 6-8 pts stronger then a normal Steel Sword. Honed Ancient Nord Swords are the same strength as Skyforge.

This is true- I was trying to say that elemental fury can make a sharp but mundane weapon extremely valuable. I think Skyforge is on par with elven- but weighs less (more important than you would think :) ) Of course you would only want to do this if you don't use shouts for much utilities. Then elemental fury is pretty cool.

The dagger is not enchanted, just lucky. So technically there's no conflict.

heh, didn't see this. I posted on this exact thing about 2 months ago. Glad to see someone else enjoying it. Pretty fast critical dagger hits huh?
