I've found yet another way of increasing IMMERSION

Post » Thu Aug 15, 2013 3:56 pm

By turning off the voices.

"But Ethetan, how will I hear discussions about mudcrabs?"

I rest my case. Seriously, with no voices, one can easily forget that only 6 VA'a voice the whole of cyrodil. Stealth is also moderatly improved as no longer can I hear the "Hello, who's there" line from patrolling grunts. If you're an immersion junkie I highly suggest turning voices off. I wish I had done this 6 years ago.

In addition, playing with no music, crosshair, and putting a black piece of paper over the compass help a lot. Yeah Im on console lol.

I've actually pondered this myself.

I like having voices on, conversation with mudcrabs or any others never get old for me. I also don't mind that there are so few voice actors, I probably wouldn't care if there were even less. :)

Never. :nope: I'll never turn them off, despite my desire for the "I" word. What would Cyrodiil be (for me) without those silly conversations? I LOVE it when NPCs get freaked and start wishing they had "cut down on the ale" or think they see things that are "making me jumpy!".

Part of the reason I play TES4 is to enjoy the environment. To escape into a silly world that has nothing to do with Earth. I laugh a lot while hearing the NPCs speak, even though for some players this totally kills immersion. I need to laugh sometimes. It's a stress reliever.

So yes, I agree with ya about deleting the crosshair, the compass, the music, but I'll never kill those voices. :talk: :talk:
