Four things Skyrim Devs need to add.

Post » Sun Jul 28, 2013 4:52 pm

It's a marketing trick. Make a simple lie saying you are done with the game just to get your fans let down a bit then wait a few months, just letting one or two workers to actually work on the final DLC for said game... Then finally release this final DLC with it having stuff that your fans wanted which in turn will get your disappointed loyal fans to basicly 'go nuts' and to get said DLC ASAP, racking in a good amount of money within a very short time which in turn will be helpful to pay for your next game that you are working on...

And to be honest, Bethesda can easily do this since they prolly have things that we want in Skyrim already done. Just need one person polish and wrap them up into a DLC and release said DLC...

So I'll say, just wait at least for the rest of the year before believing that Skyrim is truly done for.

Indeed. The marketing trick I just mentioned actually... That's why they lied before. Like for example, they originally lied saying Werewolves wont be in Skyrim... Yet once we figured out, the hype was quite high, was it not?

I wish.. but no. If they were going to do that it would have already happened.

Yup, that was the example I was going to use.

I believe that was the first event that created a "Tell me Lies" Todd Howard video

True but still possible in a DLC at least though.

Eeyup... I remember that actually. At first I was a little happy cause I thought werewolves was gonna be in Skyrim then they made that lie and I was so upset (Being a big fan of werewolves) but once the truth unfolded, BOOM! My "hype" just skyrocketed XD...

It's an extremely common thing... Playing with your emotions just to get you hyped and wanting said things.

Maybe a few Dunmer kids in Windhrlm and on Solstheim and a few Breton children in the reach but that'll do.

My number one choice would be........ Winterhold City!!!!!!!!!

I would love to see the last suggestion in the next game, none of the others really seemed that important, but they add them I would not complain.

They add any more content to Skyrim it is only going to stuff the game up more. They already said they were finished, they made it pretty clear. What we missed out on from the ideas they had will probably be in the next game. Any further patches if any are done are only going to be to fix something already broken, probably that the last patch broke. Which more likely than not is only going to break something else, so I doubt they will even do another patch, leave it while the game still works.

For what it's worth, purely because it's interesting to discuss, but also given the understanding that nothing new is likely to be added to Skyrim - I'd have like to have seen the following things impletmented if only it were possible:

1) The ability to remove/delete quests from your journal via a simple 'abandon quest' button.

The journal tends to get very cluttered, and many of these quests are 'forced' upon whether you want them or not! Certain quests are not appealing to my character from a morality perspective - for example I'd never sacrifice a follower to please a Daedra, or kill Paarthurnax simply because the Blades demand it of me. (on this character at least)

2) Refusal options within NPC quest dialogue.

Quests are often forced upon you, and you are given no option to refuse. A simple "No, I will not help you do this" option within the dialogue would be very welcome indeed. Sure, let there be consequences for refusal (i.e refusing to help a Daedra means he sends cultists after you), but at least give me the choice.

3) Viewable quest history.

I find myself looking at quests I've had in my journal for weeks. By that time I've totally forgotten the context of the quest, who gave it to me, and why. Would be nice to have an expanded journal that allows me to view the original dialogue, or at least an extended description.

4) First person riding.

I don't know about anyone else, but I personally find it very, very immersion breaking to be forced into third person while mounted. I've completely stopped using horses for mainly this reason - that and they often tend to be more of a liability than an asset.

5) Climbing

Why can't my character climb up a fairly gentle slope? One that I could easily get up in real life? Sure, there's sometimes ways of doing so if you hop along at an angle while pressing the jump key, but it shouldn't be such a chore. I'd have liked to see a climb function, which allows a character to scale a slope, perhaps with greatly reduced speed and stamina.

Why do you complain that she never removes it then? Anyway, this thread is useless; if Bethesda releases a final patch, they'll put in it whatever they want to add and remove whatever they want to remove; it would be better posting in the next games thread.

Fallout 3/New Vegas only had humans though. And if you really examine it, there wasn't any more variety really. Fallout just got away with it because the idea of Ghoul Children is too painful.
