you mean fps (first person shooter) or isometric view (old fallout)?

anyway, its been discussed a bit everywhere but nothing has been revealed yet, it could be fps or iso, it could even be some kind of merge Image

I don't know what "Fpp" or "Tpp" means, but I think he's trying to say First Person or Third Person.

MMO's tend to be third person. I'm interested in what they will do though :) Goooooooood Morning Vietnaaamm!

The early proof of concept screenshots are in TPP. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

I think something like Fallout Online could benefit from both First and third person.

Of course the practicality of such things depend heavily on the style of combat the game will have, if it's aiming to have a heavily twitch based combat system first person will have it's merits over third person when using ranged weaponary, where as Third person can be useful for more situational awareness (and shallow ego pumping by admiring your awesome character of course ;) ).

Good example of a MMO using both along side each other would be Fallen Earth, where third person is useful for general navigation/exploration/Hand-to-hand combat, whilst if you're using pistols or rifles you switch to first person for precise aiming.

And to aid the transition of the two, you can always include 'cursor mode' and 'combat mode' and then let the player choose the camera positioning for each separate interaction mode.

TPP is better than FPP. FPP is good for shoters and game type CoD, Battlefield, CS but don't for RPG games. I prefer TPP view and isometric.

Basing from the screenshot given, I'd say 3rd person. They might implement a 1st person view, though. Who knows, only time will tell.

I like Darkfall's take on the FPS (ranged, magic) / TPS (melee) options.

I fell in love with Fallout. Baldur's Gate is up there too. There is a pattern here. Third person makes me feel like I am in control of somebody else, that I am managing something or some body and telling them what I want done. AI takes over after you click to move your PC, and dice rolls come in for all of your actions. Sitting back and letting someone else do the work for me while I think of a strategy and how to win tactfully, that's what I like about these RPGs. Solving puzzles and tactical situations.

First person shooters make me feel like I AM that person and I have to control every aspect of what he does. It becomes rather player skill intensive, yet I still have to level up to beat higher level monsters?? This doesn't bode well for combat level ups and skill usage. It becomes moot and rather unrealistic, like Rambo. I have to level up my aim when I can easily take a 1 hour class in real life to learn how to shoot correctly and hit a close range target accurately, assuming I wasn't in the military already? Borrowing a phrase from the Brits, "BOLLOCKS!!"

FPP = First Person Perspective
TPP = Third Person Perspective

IMHO - Tpp all the way.
Funny moment...
You know how they say that B-soft is throwing around accusations of brand exploitation?
F1 & F2 player-base centers on rpg rather then FPS/TPS.
F3 player-base... hard to say, some kind of mix of both RPG and FPS/TPS fans.
Point is - F3 attracted more FPS/TPS oriented audience then F1 & F2.
The new generation probably never even played F1 or F2.
To them this Titan of RPG is just a couple of lines in history and a topic for older folks to nag about.
Now, are we going to lose what this brand was originally about?
We'll see who's exploiting, but I sure hope it's not gamesas.
