FPS Drops and Graphical Lag

Post » Thu Mar 07, 2013 6:17 pm

Alright so after playing a bit of the SP and MP I have noticed some troubling things. First my fps is dropping like crazy at random times for no reason I can discern. I had everything set at high at first and noticed that the graphical lag in SP would slow the game down at points and it was pretty noticable. I would go from 50 fps down to 18 fps, I think tried multiplayer and it got much worse and was nearly unplayable. with the constant graphical lag and huge spikes in fps drops. I think changed everything to medium settings and put AA at low and its still happening with low framerates. I also noticed that having everything set to medium and on low AA my cpu load in multiplayer was at a constant 90%+.... on Medium settings.

Nvidia MSI 670 GTX OC
AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz
8 Gigs DDR3
I am also using the new 314 driver nvidia released for crysis as well.

Any help regarding what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated. There should be no reason why I am having so many issue even at medium settings with the system I have.

Often the case with new games and especially with games that use the awesome CryEngine, might take some time for things to settle, maybe new drivers and some patches might improve performance in the future?. Even high end gaming pc's are having some troubles, mainly with framerate hahaha!.

gettin same prob, 2xgtx 670's, open beta ran smooth... it is most likely an nvidia driver problem, now we must wait until the next beta drivers, which will prob take a month. They never release beta drivers so soon after WHQL's.

I'm getting some drastic frame drops in spots but nothing that makes it unplayable. I'm running at medium settings and average 60+ fps but sometimes I will get spots where it drops below 30 for no apparent reason. I'm going to be crossfiring soon but who knows how much of a difference that will make.

Have a lot of fps drops. Sometimes to 45, sometimes to 35, than back to 60fps. (Everything at Very High and 4x MSAA). That's weird because open beta was smooth as a butter with constant 60fps.

My specs:
i7 950 4.2Ghz
GTX 660Ti x2 SLI (Driver 314.07)
12GB RAM

And something wrong with the antialiasing. Even at 8x MSAA there are a lot of aliased edges (especially on the metal surfaces). 4x TXAA looks the best but those edges present even here.

Maybe AMD logo at the start has something to do with all the bugs Im having with my Nvidia cards and Intel CPU? ))

I've had the same CPU and GTX 580 SLI And had serious bottleneck by the CPU replaced it with AMD FX-8350 and the problem gone!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah from what I am reading and hearing from people there are a ton of bottleneck issues from cpu's that should be more then able to run the game on medium or high settings but it seems there is some poor optimization going on right now. Hopefully they can patch this soon and fix the issues that tons of people are having.
