FPS locked at 50.2

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 6:13 am

using a 60MHz monitor so 60 fps should work with this game, (i got 60fps movies and they work), note : when i disable v sync i get my FPS back but with tearing, which is why i like v sync.
I've suffered the 25FPS lock up too.
gtx 580
i5 760
8gb 1800 ram
850w PSU

Use nVidia's driver v-sync instead of game v-sync.

also try sys_MaxFPS = 60.

tried both of those, it's usually the nvidia panel i set it from.

You cannot get around the fact that V-Sync drops performance unless you use DirectX triple buffer, which you can get an app to enable it.

Tried enabling triple buffering, still capped at 50.2?
It's a lot better than 25fps but nonetheless something's rotting in Denmark. :P

I have the same problem. What I do is turn V-Sync off. When the game ask you if you want to change this select no. The framerate goes up to 60 now. Very weird.

Im pretty sure it's your Power supply

once i had a 1342w PSU and my FPS kept getting locked at 93.1a4 then i pasted 2 550w ones together and welded the circuits and stuff with some metal plate from my old skateboard, then i plug it in , there was some smoke but i fixed that with some Cream Cheese (it woks as a real good Heatsink)

then my FPS boosted to 245.4╨2

and becuz framerain was so high in MP i ran like 4 times more fasterer and had like 4 weapons and people say i was hackers, but i explain an they forgive me

it worked for me and some friend in ukraine ;)

:P

IT's A V SYNC problem /bug
>>In game turn v sync on then off(i usually have in game off but nvidia control panel on) that's all you need to do, toggle it a few times and there it is, regular monitor settings.
this solution was found in one of two current threads made about this same problem on the steam forum /crysis section.
The bug makes my monitor go at 50MHz, but it's a 60MHz monitor and is always at 60MHz.
*copied from other thread.

SP averaging 45FPS.
