Which setting in the FPS optimser is responsible for quickening the time it takes for the framerate to become smooth? It usually takes a while for me to get a solid framerate in a particularly laggy area.

Is it changing speed under 'auto adjustment options'? If so what's the different between linear and quadratic acceleration?
