i just installed a new harddrive (cloned everything) and then STEAM downloaded a new patch. when i loaded the game up im getting a slide show in the ultraluxe now. it also happens with my earlier ghamorrah saves. i stopped using the .ddl fix cause everyone else is posting dramatic improvement with the patch. i checked some of my other games out in case i screwed up my upgrade but they are working fine. im also using NMC texture pack which isnt listed. thanks in advance. :)

If it's mod related, it's probably over the HD textures. Try renaming your Data\Textures folder to ';Textures' so the game will revert to the .DDS files in your .BSA. If you see a noticeable performance increase, I'd get rid of the HD textures (as awesome as they are) or get better hardware. If not, rename Textures to its default as they're not causing the lag.

ill try without them. i have a 285 and was getting good FPS before. its just that i just installed a new CPU and harddrive along with the patch and of course mods so there are so many variables that could effect it. although my other games run just fine so im ruling out my hardware upgrades.

yup......still slow i even lowered it to "medium" settings........jeesh that made me feel dirty. and its still slideshow. have to wait and see if something pops up.

Textures can cause a huge slowdown if you don't have the memory(videocard), or enough GPU pipes on your videocard.. If one thing makes GPU's along with the cards memory choke it's high-rez textures(see dragonage and the difference between 512x512, 1024x1024, and 2056x2056 for earth shatteringly pretty but, system choking textures :) ).

The other thing is there's still some stuff unoptimized in the lighting, I've found things like fellout, or URWLNV to choke the graphics hard too.

ive run NMC textures and fellout before. my computer is a quad core with a 285 card and 6 GB ram. so now hardware problems.

edit: its definitely a mod. i disabled all of them and im gonna have to enable them one at a time until i narrow it down. thank god this isnt oblivion since i had over 150 mods for that game. :)

If you figure out the mod that is causing the issue, let us know. I'm curious which it is because I didn't think any of those would cause that issue - of course I haven't tried all of those yet either.

Remember that we just had a new patch, that might have something to do with it too.

Of course, that one is supposed to increase performance. :P

found it. it was the advanced recon armor mod. i downloaded an update and its working now. :) not sure why it was slowing my game down since as far as i can tell the update just added more goodies for NVSE but oh well i can at least play again.
