Framerate Drop in Certain MP Maps

Post » Mon Mar 04, 2013 6:11 am

Has anyone else noticed a drop in framerate in some of the MP matches only on specific maps? I've noticed it primarily on Skyline and Airport. The match starts fine and I get 5-10 minutes into it and it suddenly starts slowing down after certain killshot replays.

The settings are around middle of the road with a few turned up (textures, game objects, and effects I think). I've tried tweaking them and restarting but it didn't seem to change anything on these maps. I'm assuming it's probably a combination of the map introducing more objects, particles, and effects throughout the match but was curious to see if anyone else noticed this.

Some specs:
Radeon 7850 2gb (no overclock)
6gb DDR3 system RAM
4x i7 @ 2.8ghz

I'm going to try playing with overclocking a little to see if that improves just my overall experience (SP and MP).

I know this sounds weird but it did help me and that was turning texture quality from high to very high. Its worth a shot just to try and see if it helps you. Also join low ping servers which are the ones with 260000 ping. In those i usually get around 50 which is also very odd.

Airport is probably one of the most punishing MP maps in the game, so that in particular wouldn't entirely surprise me.

Does this happen also if you play at low settings and low resolution (1280x720, for example)?

I haven't tried. I should have mentioned I'm running at 1920x1080 fullscreen. I'm going to go in and try to drop the texture size and some other stuff as suggested above.

Also I forgot to mention when indoors it works fine and then back outdoors it starts slowing again so it's more than likely the texture thing.
